PSA: someone selling a larry on tgp (not mine)

To buy, sell, or trade in this section, you must have at least 50 posts and have two-factor authentication enabled.

I know there are already rules in place for the classifieds, but I really feel like the reddit method could be helpful in a lot of cases (all pics of gear for sale have handwritten username and date). Pretty sure that would solve a lot of headaches/heartaches. Not all, there are still assholes out there who probably possess the gear and are just okay with ripping people off, but it would likely block most of the questionable others.
 
This situation is sadly poetic in just how much it exemplifies the saying, "like flies on shit"; scammers attracted to the faking of selling goods made by dubious and controversial figures.

I just had a guy try to scam me on Craigslist last night. Put a 2203x up for a killer price, then demanded a deposit before coming to get it. He had bad grammar btw.

Had the same happen to me last week on l.a. fb marketplace for a 4010 combo (@ $1000)

I feel like common sense goes a long way when using F&F. I did it for a purchase to save myself a couple hundred bucks but had I lost the full amount, it would have been a terribly stupid mistake to make.
This forum’s rules are better than no rules at all (50 posts). TGP thinks they handle this by only letting paid members sell.
 
I had Larry update mine to Dino 2005 specs. Delivered Thursday next week

I sent the seller a cheque as I was happy with it's conditions. I'm sending an associate to pick it up and even gave him $5,000 for his troubles, and asked that he please remove the post so as I'm happy with my pirchases.
