Hey. Thanks.

I still have eleven 4x12's loaded with various speakers. It may seem like overkill, but speakers shape so much of your sound. I have green back 25's, 30's, 65's, 80's, Vintage 30's, EV12L's, Eminence speakers.

As for amps, I still have my CCV (going on 6 years next month), a few Marshall super leads, etc. I've renewed my love for Mesa Boogie Mark series amps. I have a modded 2C+ and modded Mark III coliseum. I also have a modded triaxis with a Strategy 400 poweramp (with added depth mod) that crushes.

I go back and forth between effects loop effects and wet/dry/wet setups. I'm very simplistic with my effects and mostly use delay. I do run an EQ in my loops for slight tone shaping as well...but it's not used very often.

And finally, I'm still using my old R8 LP and custom shop San Dimas

What have you been using these days?

Cheers

Cabs/speakers are the best way to cure GAS when you already have a great amp...try different speakers. Cheaper way to change up your tone a bit. Used cabs that is....

You need more cabs Dave. Lol. Seiously, love to see you post clips of those Mesa esp the IIC. You're a strong guitar player.

Dave or anyone do you ever combine different speaker cabs to blend speakers ? I often do.
I had seven 4x12 at one time in the 90's. Currently two 4x12, one 2x12, two 1x12, one 2x10(open back), two 9x10 and my Mesa Mark IV and Fender silver face Champ is a combo. There is a few othe speakers around here are not in a cab. Greenbacks, H30, K85, Vintage 30, THD Vintage, EVL .... That I can remember.

Ran my 2C+ through a V30 cab, and my Jubilee through an 800 cab with 65s. Wet/dry with a Strategy 400 to re amp both. Lots of nice cutting mids , very full sound according to the sound guy. Lots to haul though. At home I run the same and add an old 800 cab with GT 75s....when I run both amps through the Strategy out to 4 cabs its insanely great sounding IMO. I have as much fun playing that rig at home as I do at a gig. Get the Strategy cooking..what a rush!

I have mixed speakers, but I always end up liking 4 of the same speakers in a cab more. I do like mixing 4x12's. Like using one cab with H30's and one with 80's.

I'm switching to all 2x12 to make it easier to mix different combinations of speakers and move.

Cool to see you're back in action with mesas. I'd love to hear what you've got going on with the modded strategy 400.

Whatever happened to those H&H solidstate monsters you were running? Did you just not like them?

Is the cameron CCV the only cameron you own now? I know you had some mean sounding modded monsters back then.

What do you think of the new mesa IIC+ coming out?

I've taken a break from music for a while and back in school. Getting two bachelors degrees in EE and CE with concentrations in applied electromagnetics and embedded systems. Will be building a new amplifier line in the far future based on a few old topics that exist here on RT. I'm also continuing onto a MSEE spring 2017.

I still have two HH V800's. They sound incredible for wet/dry/wet rigs. I rotate them in and out. I throw a Strategy 400 in the mix too.

I have a ripping Aldrich mod in a 1972 Marshall super lead. Has several 3 way switches for various gain and tone settings. It's the best sounding Aldrich I've played.

The new 2C+ looks cool. I hope it sounds killer. I can't wait to try it. A multi channel amp made in the USA for $2,500!!! It's a no brainer. Guys are playing close to $4k for 1/2 the amp these days.

That's great you are furthering your education. Allows you to make more money in the future for awesome gear. :D
