Purchased the 78/79 package from IK multimedia, having issues downloading the software....

Yes you did...........:shocked:...I thought how bad could it be.....

Why did they send me all these other Amplitube programs when I DID NOT but them????? I only bought the AXE one which came with ToneX SE and the interface software and then I bought the 78/79 Package. I should not have all these other softwares in my USER AREA for download.

Do I boot up the AXE one first them open the ToneX SE or do I start up the ToneX SE and then the Tone X SE finds and connects the Axe One interface?

I did download the AXE One I./O ok but I haven't launched it yet but it's installed. I will try to download ToneX SE tomorrow and see if I can get something to work. I'm to disgusted to keep messing with it today..........

So far all my downloads from IK stop 30% of the way through when downloading from IK product manager.

You weren't kidding about not user friendly Chumbucket.....I do appreciate the help though! I do at least want to get this running.

The YT guys make it look like it's a quite simple process.
Once you get the hang of it, it is ok. Till that point it sucks. Their download server must still be on dialup, they take forever. The product manager is kinda dumb, but if you have alot of their products it may make more sense.

I find sometimes the downloads stall in IK Product manager. I generally just pause it for about 15 seconds, and then unpause. That gets it moving again.

I just installed 2 TB with it a few weeks ago and got it all installed OK.

So when I open it as a plug in in Logic and the popup window says “Tonex not supported” they are lying?
Sorry man, that sounds like a Logic issue. I've used Tonex in a few different DAWs. I just had it on a track in Reaper. It works great for reamping a raw guitar track later to make it fit in the mix.
I'll utilize a Tonex amp with some Reaper FX to sweeten it up.

That's exactly what was happening, it will just stall out and I think my connection times out. I did pause it and unpause it and it was still frozen.

I will just install the ToneX SE and see if that loads better, again I have no idea why all those other software showed up in my User Area like Amplitude 5, I did not buy them and as far as I know they are not free but there they are.

I should only have ToneX SE and the Axe One I/O interface software.

Thanks for help everyone hopefully I can make some progress tomorrow:2thumbsup: I'm too crabby to keep messing with it today.

Do you have a VPN turned on? That might be an issue with downloading from the IK server.

The free Amplitube is worth checking out once you finally get up and running. It's easy to set up a pedalboard/signal chain setup using a Tonex amp. It'll give you some more FX choices than what you get in Tonex but ultimately IK gives you these freebies to entice you to purchase the full versions.

In the IK Product Manager where it has a strip for each of your softwares, in the Tonex one there is a button that says tones or sounds or something like that on the left side of that strip. It pops out a sub directory.

Sucks you guys are having difficulties. I swear it runs pretty excellent once you get the hang of it.

Your Axe I/O One purchase came with a license of ToneX SE and Amplitube SE. You actually got both 'free' by buying the interface.

The CS versions are just the free versions. You dont need those since you got the SE versions. SE takes precedence over CS.

The ToneX versions go from the free ToneX CS to ToneX SE to ToneX to ToneX Max. Each tier basically just includes more amp collections. Amplitube is similar.

It isn’t an issue since I never use it that way, weird though. Amplitube works fine, never use it, but it does load.

No worries. Odd that Amplitube opens no problem. For some reason, it hates Tonex. Never use it that way, maybe there is some update needed.

dude chill out. just download and install tonex se and you can open up the stand alone program without the need for reaper. it will also install vsts if you want to use it with reaper and presets / downloads will transfer from one to another.

I got amplitude and several other optional installs included when I got the pedal, so they may have come with the interface or they are free options to try. you dont have to download everything. you need some GB of space for the download so be sure you have enough room.

Alright I went into my user area and as suggested by IKMM support they have winzip dowloadable file of ToneX SE and Amplitube 5. I was able to get them both downloaded no problem. I installed them with no issues.

As I tried to run ToneX SE my computer kept showing compatibility issues and would not run the software. In the ToneX properties compatibility section it and I run program compatibility it shows that the ToneX SE is set for WIndows 8 compatibility. and it does not give me the option to set it to Windows 10. That doesn't make any sense, I thought this was configured for Windows 10 and 11. Why would IKMM have this thing set to Windows 8, no one uses 8 anymore and even 10 is about to cease use. I would think IKMM would have everything from Windows 10 to 11 at this point. Also when I try to run ToneX SE it states it cannot access specified path or may need more permissions, I am run this as am admiinistrator so that shouldn't be an issue.

How the hell to I remedy this compatibility issue? I don't have this issue with any of my other programs. Oh well at least they downloaded... on to the next issue:LOL:

I have never had that issue. It always popped right up. I used to have it on Win 10, and now I have it on Win 11.

It should be something simple. This computer has always had Windows 10 on it, I upgraded the harddrive and other things a couple of years ago. I'll talk to my computer guy and see what he thinks... I've done all the suggested things so far that I could find and none of them have worked. You would think it would boot right up.

I have never had an issue like that with the IK stuff. On my old computer Amplitube 5 would take a long time to open, and then sometimes it would crash and shut down, but that computer was also like 12 years old and under the minimum requirements. ToneX doesn't take as many resources as Amplitube 5 to run.

Maybe right click it, and run as administrator?

I would also try to open it with the interface connected, and without it connected. The interface driver could be doing something weird at startup.

Maybe the zip file that you downloaded was some older version, although it doesn't make sense that it wouldn't work with Win10, because Tonex has only been out for a few years at most.
You really need to get that IK Product Manager installed. It does automatic updates on your apps.

you may need to go into the ik product manager, make sure it shows tonex se installed and authorize it. this sounds like a manual way of doing what the product manager does so there may be some steps missing. otherwise anyone with the zip could pirate the software.

idk what instructions they've given you, but I would uninstall everything and start over using the product manager. install tonex se only

I did run them both as administrator, there are no security locks on my computer. I've looked up all the suggested fixes via Windows and online fixes.

No, both downloads were the most recent version at the very top of the My Products page, I made sure of that before downloading them. They both downloaded fine with no issues. I do have IK product manager installed, but downloaded via the win zip file on the product page as the IKMM support suggested since the Product Manager downloads kept stalling and failing.

I just logged on to my IK product manager and it shows my ToneX SE as installed and authorized. The Amplitube 5 SE does not show installed or authorized even though It is downloaded on my computer.
