early on in Ukrain’s independence, normal Russian Black Sea routes thru Ukraine were cut off or seriously compromised, and with no explanation.
Fact: when nukes were placed on America’s doorstep in Cuba, it’s the closest we came to nuclear war until the USSR relented. But Ukraine, on Russia’s doorstep, should be allowed to join NATO and possibly, sometime in the future, have nukes deployed there….I can’t see the “fairness” in it.
All that being said, Putin is a soulless, murdering psychopath and if one of those huge golden doors he walks thru in the kremlin fell on him and squashed him like a bug, the world would be a much better and safer place.
