Putting a Marshall Logo on a cab with no pre-existing holes.

What might be a good way of getting the holes right? I’m going to try and redo the grill cloth on a EVH 4x12 with S&P and would put a 6” gold Marshall logo on the front in place of the EVH badge. Couldn’t sell the cab so decided to keep it, match it visually to my other Marshall cab and replace the EVH speakers.

I used a clear piece of 1/8" thick plexi glass at least the length of the 11" marshall logo, you can level and lay the Marshall logo on top and mark where the pins are then drill them out. Make sure you undersize your holes so the Marshall pins go in tight.

Once you have the clear plexi glass drilled you can then mark where both ends of the logo end then you can center it on your cab then drill your pilot holes into the baffle. There are probably other better ways to go about this but it's what I used and it worked well.

The best way is to get an extra logo and cut the mounting tabs off. Then, drill holes through the stumps where the mounting tabs were. Now you can hold the logo up against the grill cloth and mark the holes through the holes you drilled in the logo. It works really well.

I took the logo and carefully punched it through some cardboard .... then rough traced it on the cardboard .... pull the logo ..

now you have a rough template to line up , center up .... with holes in the proper spots to drill

That’s blowing over $50 just to make a template. Those logo’s are expensive. I think Wayne’s suggestion above may be the way. I was thinking just using a piece of paper but a thinner cardboard with some rigidity would be better.

Don’t suppose you know of a good place besides a Google search for the logos. Not finding anything less than $50 once you have shipping.

Just leave the logo and gift the thing to me. I only have one 4x12. I feel empty

Actually a deal.
Had it on FB marketplace and CL for $500 for at least two months. Highest offer I got on FB was $350. I wish I could have put it on Reverb but the shipping would have been stupid and trying to get a box etc even more a pain in the ass. But I’m a sucker for an excuse to get more speakers to try, so keep it I shall and make it a speaker mutt like my Marshall cab.
Plus I kind of miss the sound of two cabs next to each other as I had pulled it from the wall of doom in case it sold.
