Fuckin nerd. This dude kicks ass. Always has the best science and physics vids. This was an excellent description of nodes and anti nodes.
This has been an interest of mine for over 30 years. Was gonna post it, but figured I would get blasted as a nerd.![]()
Yep.Fuckin nerd.![]()

No worries brother. My wife is a complete nerd. I want to be but I'm not smart enough and lack the degree of focus necessary.Yep.
Sounds like you and my wife would get along. No worries brother. My wife is a complete nerd. I want to be but I'm not smart enough and lack the degree of focus necessary.
I actually lost interest in things like quantum physics and string theory not long after meeting my wife. Maybe lost interest isn't the right phrase. More like lost motivation. My wife is highly intelligent. She graduated high school at 15 ( after skipping two grades she asked to be put back down one because she was tiny and didn't want to be in the same class as her older sister, otherwise she would have probably been 14) and when she was 6 she was, at the time, the youngest member of Mensa in Missouri history. My point being when you are around someone like this constantly two things happen. A) you get really sick of being told how to do everything, even the simplest task like washing a window, in the most efficient and effective way possible and B) You quit trying because it seems pointless. Kinda like the old adage about throwing away your guitars after seeing someone really great play.
It’s not that we’re opposites. She’s just a lot smarter than I am. I smoke her in history, English and literature. She excels greatly at science and math. She scholar-shipped to Baylor, Scholar shipped to Rolla and UMSL, has 3 degrees and is a CPA who would rather be an engineer. She passed all 6 CPA tests first time with very high marks and without taking that class designed to prepare you for it. Like 10% of people pass those tests first time. I got an AA from a junior college and had to go to work. I read textbooks for leisure and like you and I have 3-5 books going at any given time.Sounds like you and my wife would get along.
I'm not an academic, but probably would have been if my family would have had the means.
But they weren't in the position to even help with my schoolwork, and I was a mediocre HS student, grade wise, but made up whole semesters, twice, just to graduate.
Shit, I didn't even realize that I was "intelligent" until I took the ASVAB pre naval service. Scored a 97 without prep. Was asked to join the Nuclear Power field, and was kind of surprised.
Halfway through my enlistment, I realized I loved physics, not math, but physics. This was due to my interest in my field, which relied heavily on the physics of sound, and combined many skills, such as electronics, electrical and engineering.
Took on a second rate, which then led to even more skills, centering on mechanical and weapons handling and all associated auxiliary skills.
I honestly used to read 5-7 books a week, and have learned many things on my own.
I later learned in college, this is an autodidact, then it all clicked.
Most everything I know, I learned on my own.
I have found, this is why I don't get along well with people. I don't suffer BS, and I like to help ..which people don't truly want.
Sounds like you have an amazing person as a partner, opposites can compliment. This is why I believe my marriage is good, she is completely opposite of me, and balances me out. I would be truly lost without her.
Mine plays a mean triangle, and can't cook very well. But she is my pr rep, and handles people far better than I. Guess I'll keep her. It’s not that we’re opposites. I drive better than she does though. And the bitch is useless on a bass guitar.![]()
Mine is beautiful, but she would kill me for posting her picture on the forum. We are private people. She’s also hotter than a mother fucker so concessions were made. Lol. View attachment 392787
Hence the sunglasses. Also she doesn’t know I posted it. lolMine is beautiful, but she would kill me for posting her picture on the forum. We are private people.
That's why I always blur our faces. Too many dufuses out there.![]()
Your secret is safe with me.Hence the sunglasses. Also she doesn’t know I posted it. lol
On second thought you’re right.
Being around someone so accomplished has made you feel discouraged and less motivated to pursue things you once enjoyed. Constant advice and comparisons can lead to frustration, making it hard to stay inspired. It's important to remember that your interests are valid, and it's okay to pursue them in your way without feeling pressured by someone else's expertise.Sounds like you and my wife would get along.
