Hello! Maybe you can help me with this issue I'm having...

I'm looking into getting the Musicomlab EFX MkIV for my pedalboard and a few things have come up that I can't get around...

I want to run it like this:

The first 6 pedals into the front of the amp(s) and then the last 4 loops will be for the effects loop(s)! I put the "s" in brackets because I'd like to use 2 amps when I can/want.... But at the same time be able to just use one amp.

So here is where I'm having trouble...

If you're familiar with the EFX MkIV, you'll know that loops 7-8 are mono, and then the 9th and 10th are stereo.

If I'm going to run 2 amps, wanting some pedals in front of them both and some pedals in the loops of both, how would that work?! I'd come out of the "Out A" on the EFX, and then go to an ABY box I guess... But then how would I send my effects loops back to it when using both amps? If the last 4 loops were all stereo then it would work no problem... But they're not! Is there a way to do this? I thought maybe using a cable that is TRS on one end and 2x TS's on the other... Would my pedals like that? Not sure =(

If it makes a difference, I'll include which pedals I want in my loop(s).

Boost
Gate
Delay (stereo)
Reverb (stereo)

Does this make any sense?

I don't know this piece, but it sounds like you answered your question.
I'm thinking any kind of cable like this
"TRS on one end and 2x TS's on the other"
sounds like even if it works will degrade your signal big time

Post this question in the Friedman forum; Dave can answer your question for sure. BTW I have Musicom Mkiii - great product and great company - but if you haven't looked at the Boss ES-8, you need to.

Thanks for the replies, guys! Much appreciated.

Yea I guess I did answer my own question, sort of haha!

I'm mainly wondering if putting 2 amps' signals into a mono pedal would "work"... I don't really think so, but I'm not 100% and want to make sure! I didn't think of asking Dave, he'll obviously know =)

I have looked into the BOSS switcher, but I need/want 10 loops, not 8! lol

Check out the PBC by RJM. It has 10 loops. With the exception of changing pedal order, it does everything the Boss does. The Boss actually has a volume loop that can be used as a 9th loop or using in the amp FX loop. I believe the RJM is about $300.00 more.
I have a custom RG-16 (blue lights) and Mastermind I am selling to get one of these switchers.

I am also seriously considering a PBC for a pedalboard version of a big dual amp rack rig. Although the Boss seems to have a few more options, RMJ gear is built like a tank and probably with much better internal components. The details like buffers make a difference. The Boss has variable routing options, but without hearing it, I am suspicious it won't have the sonic transparency of a serious piece of gear like a Sound Sculpture Switchblade GL or any of the RMJ interfaces.

This thread is over a month old so maybe Myke came up with something.

Watcha get Myke?

And I don't have direct experience but doesn't Radial make something that will do this for you? LoopBone maybe?
