What kind of effect does changing the power tubes have on the amp?

I just ordered one on ebay that is coming with KT88 power tubes in it, and I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep them, or swap them for a set of either EL34 or 6L6 tubes.

Anyone have any advice for what the tonal change would be?

I have the same question mine has 6l6s I think I whant el34s

Hi Peter,
I was wondering if you had changed your mind on your choice of power tubes. I hope I don't come off wrong, but I thought you had kinda shifted back to the el34b (the new model) after reading a post by you a month or 2 ago.
You mentioned that the sed el-34 seemed a little muddy to you, I do like the sed 34 in my vh4 but it has seemed to get a bit muddy.
Have the new 34b's not worked out so well? was there a reliability issue?
Just wondering what your thoughts were.
Thanks Peter!

That's what happened. Peter S. told me that many many of those new Shuagang tubes blew right away and many just didn't sound as good as they should whereas the SED tubes are extremely reliable and as far as I remember about 9 out of 10 tubes can be used and sound great.
