question on half round strings

I've never tried them on an electric, but on an acoustic they have a nice warm mellow tone on the wound strings. They also help cut down on string noise when moving up and down the neck.
The wound strings last about 10x as long as a roundwound string does. I play every day and change the wounds once every 3 or 4 months when the start to get fret divots on them.

I figured that.
But. How the hell do my treble strings sound fuller and fatter. Same 10gu.

What brand are they?

As far as I know, even "Pure Nickel" strings sets still use steel cores (in other words the plain strings don't even get the nickel treatment)

D'addario 10 gauge half wounds
the bass strings look like Nickle. dull. but they do sound good

They’re not all that great. I’m assuming you’re looking for at Diaddario ? They lose that snap really quickly. I’d recommend going full flatwound as half’s are a gimmick and not really the best of both worlds.

I can only fuck with them on an ultra downtuned axe; plain 3rd sounds like warbly dogshit tuned down low
Try this on a strat, for a possible unlocked kimgs option
