Question regarding the new Bogner Ecstasy 104 EL34 and Shiva.

I have a Shiva in my studio and it sounds great, I do mostly pop, pop/rock and modern country. I played the 104 yesterday and really dug it, especially the Blue channel. I don't have an opportunity to hear them together, was wondering how the tones compare between them? My shiva is an EL34 with no reverb.

I've had both, but not at the same time. I seem to recall the Shiva being a lot tamer but it may just be faulty memory.

What's up James! You've got some cool videos up on youtube. The Shiva's lead tone is going to be fuzzier and less controlled, more "bubbly" sounding if that makes sense. The Ecstasy still has the Bogner smear but it's going to be a little more detailed and modern sounding.

I don't know if I've heard a better clean tone than what I've heard from the Shiva. It is a phenomenal amp for cleans.

I guess the first part would just be the difference between a 100w and 50w amp - at the same volume the big amp will have much bigger transients (which can be good or bad depending on how much you like compression).

Second I guess this more goes to Red and 80s mode but I seem to recall the 104BV having a lot more gain.

Third, I don't believe my Shiva has a bright switch on either channel, while the 104s have lots of configurable stuff. Both are voiced naturally dark, but the 104 seems to have a lot of options to get away from that. My shiva didn't. My understanding is some of them have bright switches but I'm no expert on Shiva revisions (or really Ecstasy revisions for that matter).
