5 years ago today I got a call from my best friend, the friend whom I grew up with and hung with everyday.
We listened to Pantera religiously! and Dime was who I wanted to be! Pantera was more than just a band to me, it is who I am, I can't explain it, but this band helped me through all my growing pains and all the bullshit life handed me, and made me better for it. Taught me to believe in myself!
I'll never forget that call as I almost hung up on him thinkin he was fucking with me, but it was not just a joke or a bad dream. I play guitar because of Dimebag, Got my first guitar in 1990 right after I got Cowboys From Hell, I'll be 30 in January and Dime is STILL the reason I play.

I want to take the time to say thanks to Darrell for that, and I know that somewhere you are fuckin rippin it up and blowing things up and just being a fuckin party animal!

Rest in Peace Brother Dime!

You'll Cast a Shadow!!!

I saw Damageplan right before this happened. What a shame :( R.I.P.

One of the best ever...he truly is missed. R.I.P., Dime!

Baddest Motherfucker to EVER pick up a guitar (IMHO)..... he is sorely missed.

R.I.P. dime. the music world was so much more interesting knowing he was out there giving it hell like i knew it could be done. still to this day i have trouble listening to pantera. every song/note is bitter sweet because i realize what he was giving all of us and what was lost on that infamous night. a huge part of my guitar playing inspiration was lost after this incident occurred. he is still missed sorely. damn it!!!

Keep forgetting that happened on Dec 8th...

R.I.P. Dimebag :m17:

RIP.

I did a clip the night after the shooting... found a backing on the web, recorded a rhythm part and a lead.

I'll never forget that day. It's like I lost a family member as lame as that is to say, but it's true. One of the greatest players EVER and one of the nicest, most humble human beings on the face of the planet.

RIP Brother! We will always remember you and the music you gave us!

R.I.P. Dime.

Let's not forget that he didn't die alone that night.

Cant believe its been 5 years. I was down the street at the Newport theater that night on tour with Ministry. Our show was put on lockdown. Its was pretty scarey. Then we got reports of what happened. Fucking horrible. Music just havent been the same since dime left. That dude was super cool to EVERYONE he met.

RIP

RIP Dime! :( Dime had some of the tastiest lead chops and technique, definitely one of my favorites and the music he left behind is killer.
