Just found out from a high school friend of mine that Frankie Banali died. I was completely unaware that he played on my friend's first album and he said he just talked to him two months ago.
I never had the chance to meet him but he always seemed like a great guy in interviews, etc. He just seemed real, authentic, and caring. My buddy confirmed he was like that.
I was a huge KISS, Styx, Cheap Trick, etc. fan in the 70. Quiet Riot was my first introduction into metal and have been a fan of that type of music ever since. When you hear that drum roll at the beginning of "Metal Health", it just hits you in the chest. R.I.P. to another one of the giants who gave us a reason to pick up the guitar.
