With a long delay in the loop and not waiting long enough one could either damage the relay inside the headbone or the output transformer, Brad.
Since I have an analogue delay with 350ms and only one repeat I just have to wait a short second, you know ;)

If I am using it with a Herbert / XTC Classic and have something in the loop switched out with a RJM-16 as well as turning the switchable loop off on the amp not in use, should I pretty much be safe?

When switching I always put to Herbert to mute, but for the bogner there is a switchable standby, is this the same standby as the switch on the front? Or is it like a mute function.

ok thanks!

Suhr is also making one. Made a proto for Santana, and I am having them make me one. Spoke with John last week about it.

Is the one they are making able to switch FX loops?

The HB switches two things simult.: the input (like a A/B box) and the speaker outs with a relay. The unused goes to a resistor (opened the unit and it looks like a 9 Watt resistor), which is ok when the input simult. is switched to ground (with optos).
So it all depends if you have a huge, long delay in the loop of one amp (or both). Then, after sitching, still some signal (=Watts on the output side) needs to go somewhere. So either the relay eats it up (and dies .. .) or to the resistor (which handles 9 Watts) or if that also fails to the output transformer of the unused head, which should be avoided. So either you don't use long delays in the loop or you just wait long enough before switching . . .
