Here ya go...there might not be a more uncomfortable guitar in the world for me to play than a Superstrat with H/S/S configuration byt what the hell, it came out pretty good. Now quit asking if this amp is only for metal. :D

As always, I think it is a good idea to actually go to the You Tube page and check out the video so you don't end up asking questions that are answered there.

That's a nice sounding rock/hard rock amp. Can you get some good Thrash or modern metal tones out of it?? :D     When I first saw the video I thought you were playing a miniature guitar.  Funny thing is that if you broke out some tight ass thrash riffing with the same exact settings that sounded really good for Bark at the Moon, it would still sound really good for the Thrash stuff.

not a bad sounding amp...esp for the money...
it's voicing reminds me an engl(could be good for some, bad for others)

BATM and Unchain the Night.

Sounds good and nice playing.

First off, thanks for the vid. The amp sounded tubby to me. Actually not that great for rock, not enough snap to it. But the gain you used as a rock example is what I would use for metal so it might just be personal perspective.

I'm similar in my approach to gain.. that said, I thought it sounded really good for BATM and that's how I'd likely dial it in as well. So yeah I guess it CAN do RATT!

Can't win 'em all! I couldn't disagree with you more. By all means though, dismiss the amp with an absolute.

Sounds really good to me. Im going to pick up that little 5 watter asap. Diggin the new Randall stuff a lot. Thanks for taking the time to do the vid.....

You think you're confused. Why the butt hurt over a simple opinion, that I may add wasn't given rudely or dismissively.

Yeah...not so much. Respectfully, I'll tell you why.

The comment "Actually not that great for rock, not enough snap to it" is a dismissive statement in its very essence. That is the absolute to which I was referring.

Zero butt hurt here. Nothing in my initial statement even implies such. I fully acknowledge not every one likes the clips I do, especially on Rig-Talk! I have been posting clips for close to a decade and am completely aware that not everyone will love the sounds I produce. No biggie.

You don't dig it and that is A OK. It really is.

Honestly man, I think the tone your last video was more convincing for 80's tones. I know you're trying to accommodate the questions of other folks on the boards, but I think you've already proven that it can do the rock tones people want.

Awesome playing. I think the amp sounds great. I just don't understand all the "can it do rock/80's metal" questions. Randall is aiming this at the metal scene.......as they do the majority of their amps. They aren't trying to please the cock rock crowd. If you want that, then stick to EL34's and Marshall-ish circuits. The Fortin stigma is responsible for that. People wanting to jump on the boutique market on the cheap. I bet if Friedman helped design an EL34 based, hot rodded Plexi for Randall.......then everyone would be asking if it could do detuned, modern metal as well.

got to agree..... I was really surprised to hear the presence in that part....was almost soldanoish (which is a very good thing for me)

I was hanging out for so long for the 45's to arrive, then I found out they aren't being sold here in NZ so I was bummed that I would have to get one on line and hang it switched to 230v.....then I walked into a shop here and played a jet city jca 22h and fell in love so I was happy..............now I think a randall is back on the radar  ...would be a good mate to the jet city

Thanks. I agree. I never have understood why the first thing people ask is "Will it sound like a Vintage Marshall?" or "can it do hot rodded Marshall tones?" That is pretty much only asked on RT and nowhere else. I have said it in other threads and said if that is the tone you want you should play a Marshall or one of the countless derivatives available. I mean seriously, how many more of those amps do we really need?

I think so, too. I did this last video anyway specifically for RT, even though numerous people told me not to bother, because some people were sincerely interested in the amp. I wanted to dispel the asinine assumption that this amp will only do super heavy stuff because it simply isn't the case. However, this will be the last time I ever do one of these directly for a forum.

Thank fkn gawd that got out there, and by a credible source to boot.

Shame, cuz you delivered exactly what was asked for - and I think the majority truly appreciate this man.

Just sayin',
Mo

Thanks, Mo. I hope people get something out of it. That really is my only point in doing these.

Awesome stuff Jason........
I am not into the Bark at the Moon stuff much....but you were ripping it up for sure.

Thanks killertone! I definitely got something out of the 2 demos you did for this amp. Ill be on the hunt for one shortly.
