Randall has lost their minds! Are they on meth?

Our economy is at high inflation. Thought that was common knowledge. That’s essentially why everything is becoming more expensive. You see, when the supply outweighs the demand and money is pumped into the economy, it creates inflation of the currency.
In this case, however, there is NO supply of new/used/vintage amps to speak of. Therefore the amps that are out there, are price jacked to the moon since nothing is available. All you have to do is look at GC and Music Go Round inventory...pre Covid GC would have 25+ pages of used Marshall stuff. Music Go Round would have 20 pages. Now, they have less than half of that. The guys that are selling on Reverb and Ebay are asking huge prices because they can..and they sometimes get it since there's no other source to go to.

800 bux for a horseshit amp with only a tone control for EQ.. Because 1 knob does it all..
LOL

Sweetwater has a new XTC101B for $3820 and 20th Annv one for $4,300.

Anyone remember what those were 12 months ago?

The amps from the 80's, early 90's were outstanding, some of my favorites. Those prices are INSANE. They are completely nuts asking those prices. The gear market has been mind boggling the last year or so...

Prices are bloated, pumped-up, even inflated due to inflation. A lot of money has been printed and pumped into the economy.

Inevitable consequence of global capitalist/neoliberal policies. All of these “developing economies” and “emerging markets” can only be exploited for so long until labor and other costs start to rise. There’s a finite number of underdeveloped countries to jump to and try and keep this thing going.

At some point there will be no more cost savings or profit margins to squeeze out, either due to our standard of living falling enough or the third world’s rising - or most likely, both.

Japanese stuff now costs what US stuff used to. Korean stuff costs about what Japanese stuff used to. Indo stuff is the new Korean, etc.
Not just globalists but also a firm belief of libertarian party as well. Just listen to the Cato think tank. So its embraced by liberals and conservatives. Its not a right or left thing

He’s referring to the liberal/neocon party, which you are correct in saying includes both democrats and republicans. It’s two sides of the same coin. But even then, you cannot draw sweeping generalizations against Dems and GOP. Not all on either side are homogeneous. There’s a big difference between a Joe Mansion and a Mitt Romney.

Yeah I’ve read the 1w and one of the others is good, I think the 45? And the other couple are not good. Just saw the 1w is now $615 at musicians friend
Crazy! the Randall 1 watt was the Stupid deal of the day last year for $149

That’s when I got mine lol. Thought it was gonna be a toy but for recording sounds every bit as good as any of my “real” amps

5 watts, made in China? $759? That's insane! My point is, their prices have more than doubled and in some cases more. The RD45 that is now nearly $1400, was $599 when it came out. The Thrasher was 1599, the 50 watt $999. The 50 watt Thrasher is $2034!

Yeah, I remember when they came out and they were priced fairly, now it’s utter madness. 3 grand for a Chinese built Randall thrasher, holy hell, but that’s just ludicrous!!!

I bought a Diavlo 100w for 799 new back in 2012….that was one of the worst amps I’d ever played through.
Fortins issue is with a few things….
1. Fairly obvious that he copied others work for 99% of his amps/pedals. Not based on; copied.
2. Hired a Douche named Zach who basically pumped up the brand; but if you dared say anything negative you were insulted and kicked out of the Fortin ‘army’
3. Some of his stupid expensive amps were partially made overseas but advertised as being made here or Canada. Also leading to faulty standby switches …

Correct me if I’m wrong about some of this. It’s too bad because by all accounts he’s a super nice guy…but has unfortunately made some questionable decisions

I remember that dude Zack flipping out and attacking people on a regular basis. even if someone said something like, “my fortin was so/so, I guess it was ok,” he would go nuts and tell them that they had the best damn amplifier this world had ever seen! Very obnoxious.

As for borrowing someone else’s circuit, wow, extreme poor form.

A lot of controversy surrounding him.

$3000 for a Thrasher made in China is insane. I mean, you can buy a handmade amp made in the USA, Canada, Germany for that price. You could literally have James Peters handbuild you an amp for that price.

Yes, very offensive.

I'm long time Randall user. Randall V2 head with Randall cabinet was my amplifier of choice from the release day (2006 or 2007 don't remember) until 2014 and I loved it. It's still in my reach in the studio I use for recordings.

Randall never reassured me to be a company that thinks long-term and has serious relationship with the guitar community that gravitates towards the Randall products.

I don't care much about marketing if the amp is good but I agree they got lost along the way. I don't know exactly what hit them and how hard, but the Randall name in the guitar amplifiers game certainly has a better starting point than for example Blackstar.

I used Diavlo RD45 too for a few months in circa 2014.
I would certainly love to be Randall amp user again. I love to see that logo on the stage.

Ouch!
