Right now, the GNR is doing it for me.

The GNR?

It's the Eggy SL2 with a couple of resistor swaps. Sounds drastically different. More open. Think Appetite for Destruction.

CHA = opening riff to night train
CHB = Sweet Child O Mine

I was the original owner of this mod. Liked it alot. Little too DARK sounding for me.

Jim, did you end up getting a Pete SLO module done?

Pete was nice enough to send me one to try. It was impressive. Me bstaley and ratter all dug it alot. That said I would love to hear the Salvado and Friedman versions of an SLO mod. I would also love to hear Pete's highly acclaimed 1086 mod and his XTC mod. I got to try an older version of Pete's XTC mod but I guess he has a new improved one.

Truth be known of all the modded and unmodded Randall modules and all the Eggie modules I tried I still prefer my Friedman Black Eye. The Eggie EG5 and Pete's SLO module were really sweet but the Black Eye is my #1.

I hear ya man. My main one is the HBE/Black Eye module with the BE/C45 Modules right behind. I just got a Friedman SLO and its really cool as are his XTC, and Recto Mods. If your looking for a cool module for chugging away I suggest the Friedman Recto. I like Petes Recto as well, and its more like the real deal. Daves has its own thing going on. If your interested in checking some out, let me know and I'll send a few over next time you guys are all getting together like I did last time.

If you want to send me the Friedman SLO and XTC we'll find time to get together I'm sure. You still have my info?

Will do soon. Have Trace doing a HG Jose for me, and I'll send that along with the UG Jose for you guys to check out as well. Better to send a bunch in one shot so you can check and compare side by side.

Just had Salvation's Custom 3 module.
Liked it alot but just sold it off due to financial reasons.
Will be getting more of his work in the future!

Kick arse........I love my Pete modded Recto and Pete modded KH-3 to pieces....

Oh Yeah.....

I voice the XTC modules real close to my 2004 Bogner Ecstasy... and it is a dark amp for sure. One thing that I like is that even though it's dark, you can get pinch harmonics all over the place and it sustains crazily. :)

Glad you dug it Jim!

The one thing I remember from that module was that it had ENDLESS amount of GAIN!
It was a freaking animal that cleaned up well!

If it's a Mesa Mark modual, then I can finally look into the RM stuff! I've always been interested in them, but wanted a MK modual before I bought in.
Very cool!

If only it had a graphic EQ...

:)

No room if you want it just like the real deal. :) I actually set this up so the tone controls work, unlike mark series mesas where the bass knob is really a 'mud' knob :D I did clips of mine and a Mesa Studio preamp, was really close and when I posted both clips on the MTS forum a lot of guys preferred the MTS clip.
