On guitars that I know for certain come with cases, I have passed on 3 in the past week because they didn't have cases. If the guitar showed signs of gigging, I could understand that a case would be beat up or unusable, but an excellent condition guitar, like an older PRS that I know came with a case, there is just no excuse for not having a case. The Ibanez Prestige I bought last month not case either. WTF is happeing with the cases? How do you loose something the size of a child? RANT OFF:::::::

yes, this is a very strange phenomenon occurring more and more. I don't know where they go.

I think they break them or sell them. I bought a CU22 from a Vietnamese dentist and the case was broken as hell.

yeah, I always found it weird when potentially buying a guitar you know came with a case, and the owner says, "i don't have the case, but I do have a bitchin gig bag I can throw in!!" yeah, I don't think so, a guitar in a gig bag with the brutes of UPS or USPS throwing it around, no chance!! I know one time when I was getting a guitar, the guy flat out told me he was keeping the case.

its from the small kids living in the case when being transported here from Vietnam. you unwittingly contributed to human trafficking!!

Ever hear this?
'For an extra 50 bucks I will throw in a case'
This is when your already forking over several hundred dollars.
I don't get it.

They're with all the dropped picks. Forget about them.

i just bought a 1986 pv........with original case.....i know what your saying though.......

Usually when you see this it's flippers that sell the case separately for more money. You see the same thing with douche bags with PRS guitars that pull the 57/08 and other expensive PRS pups and throw in DiMarzios, sell the PRS pups separately for $300, then try to tell you the DiMarzios are an "upgrade".

Well. sometimes you buy a guitar for like 3K, or more like a SUHR...and you get a free cup of coffee and a gig bag!! So I'd bet when a dude wants to sell his original Hamer USA that came with a case, they decide instead to keep the case for the 3K Suhr and throw the gig bag into the sale instead. Lol, I know you Suhr dudes love your guitars but for christ sake they need to pony up a frickin hardshell case for that kinda dough.

Well fwiw, selling all my cases is on my list of things to do...I think I have about 5 buried in closets that haven't seen the light of day since the mid 2000's :)

I much prefer to use gig bags as I never pile my guitars in with other gear anyway and I feel like the metal corners and latches of a hard case do more damage to other things (mainly my car).
If I'm not taking a guitar somewhere in a gig bag, it's hanging on the wall.

Anyway, when you see me selling a guitar without a case, it's not a conspiracy...my wife just needed the closet space!

This all day. Never understood this about Suhr. Really puts a negative mark on a great guitar IMO. I mean, you're already selling the guitar for 3 bills, tack on another $100 if you're really trying to make that years profit quota.
