...but it's local in person sale. I'm not taking 20+ pics of every inch. If you're serious and interested, meet in person and see/try the guitar for yourself.
If a guy requests pics of a certain spot I got no problem providing that to make a sale but you gotta watch out for the dude who must be reverse engineering his own axe asking for dozens of pictures of yours.

Agree with OP, but this beats the fish scale for Just a little more money:

I'm lazy when selling on CL, one pic of the guitar, some info, price., general location. If there was some damage or flaw, I'd add a pic of it.

If I get questions, I'll answer them if possible,

I usually get 8 or 10 pics up there. I always note in my ad that I don't check emails frequently so serious buyers can text me. Man has that weeded out nearly all the tire kickers. If someone emails that means they didn't read the ad and if they didn't read the ad I'm not inclined to deal with them because they have already demonstrated a complete lack of cognizance. I get a text and usually it's a legit question and I can close the deal quickly.

I don't care about the weight thing, I think that's up to the individual seller. If they care, they care, if they will accomadate you they will, if they wont, they wont. If they wanna make the sale, they can decide if thats up to them. I am a gigging player that's 40 and I don't give a shit, personally.

The cabinets is 1000% true. The companies doubled the prices for new ones, and used sellers doubled their prices as well, but the used buyers aren't buying at that price. It's insane and ridiculous.

I've seen UNLOADED bogner 4x12s for 800$ and UNLOADED 1960bs for 650$. Fuck right off at that price.

The only thing I will say as someone who has bought and sold for decades now, is that the people who ask very specific questions almost never buy. I was selling a Norlin era 81 Les paul custom, and yea I eventually added the weight after 2 days, but everyone who asked about the weight never actually bought before hand. I usually use a bathroom weight scale to weigh when someone ask no issue and dont mind. But usually most people dont buy it after doing it.

i sold an boat anchor last year, so i intentionally didn't list the weigh, but of course stated it, if asked.
But of course the people who asked about the weight did not buy it🤪.
are you the guy that traded with Thug ??

Selfish entitlement to ask about an item I'm interested in buying? I know you feel like you are just being aggressive but you sound stupid bro
You should read your original post. That's stupidity at its finest. Getting sand in your vagina because somebody doesn't know the weight of a guitar they bought for themselves, (not for you), or suggesting they buy a $10 scale in case they run across douchebags like yourself is beyond stupid. How about you go buy the fucking scale and travel the countryside, in your quest for the grail. Maybe invite the Knights Of The Roundtable to join you.

You comprehend the part where there is one party hoping to sell their instrument for top dollar, right?

Yup I forgot Bogner cabs. Never had one cause I'll never drop more than $500 on a 4x12 but every time I see one locally it's always $800 or more. Patience is def a virtue with cabs tho--I stumble upon good deals pretty regularly. Just gotta be quick and have cash

Of course, it is the seller's prerogative whether or not to relay the info--I just always deal local with instruments and for some it is impossible to get enough info to warrant the sometimes 2-3hr drive. More info--quicker sale.

If you don't mind me asking--how old are you and how long do you stand with your guitar on average per day? What instruments are your go to (heavy/light)? I'm 56 and my back feels it after an hour or so--and I can't play sitting down. What's your secret?

So I'm 40 and I play les Pauls, and yes, theyre generally heavy as hell. I play in a punk band that gigs at least once a week and rehearses twice a week, and a cover band that does about the same, so I play standing up 35-40 hours a week minimum counting that stuff and my home practice standing up.

Just so it's on the table, I had my C3 and C4 vertebra fused when I was 20, and went through physical therapy for 3-4 years.

My secret is really simple

1. everyone constantly slouches and has terrible posture - if you start standing up straight (legitimately) and get yourself in the habit of proper posture, it's going to strengthen your muscles for bearing weight when playing. People slouch when they're playing too, but the trick is stopping slouching period

2. CBD menthol roll on. I prefer the black Dragon Balm, but there's a bunch of different brands. I use it religiously, 4-5 times a week.

Yeah I'm sure my posture doesn't help. But I'll try that CBD balm

I think my playing posture is called a "super slouch"

I'm scared to sell things on CL. It feels like going behind the Walmart. You attract some weird people.
If you stick to higher dollar stuff you should be ok, I've never had an issue and I've been buying and selling stuff for decades. Met some cool people too

I hate people that use Craigslist so fucking much. Every time I sell something on there it turns into a hassle with some fuckhead flake either:
1. not showing up to agreed time
2. saying they will buy whatever, then stop communication
3. show up having agreed to pay then start trying to low ball after you already agreed on a price
4. agreeing to pay, asking directions to pick up the item, then coming back a day before meet up and ask you to fucking deliver it to them then deciding they don't want it if you don't drive 2 hours to bring it to them
5. showing up but 7 hours late

Going through this shit with an amp currently. Every fucking person is a flake. FUCK ZOOMERS. They are all completely braindead dickheads.

At least the musicians are this way. I guess people using it for other shit tend to be sort of normal.

Every time I try to sell something I am treated like a shit, but then I am like "ok its people money and I need to sell, I will deal with the "customers"..." but then when I buy, people still being dicks and retreat me like shit... more and more I am buying new just not to deal with people on those platforms.

On Point 2) Cabs have gotten insane. The past year I've spent scooping up any decently priced 4x12 because I fear they're just gonna be pricey now. Marshall 1960a/b's used to be $350-400 minty, now they're $700-800. Mesa used to be $500-600, now they're $800-1200. Orange used to be $800, now $1000+. Doesn't help prices on these shits have gone thru the roof, cabs that used to be $1000-1200 NEW are now $1600+. Here's some shit on my saved list...

Minty Marshall 1960B for $850. fuck that.

Minty Marshall 1960Bs, $800 each, $1500 for pair. fuck that.

Normal condition Marhsll 1960B loaded with greenbacks $1000 $850 - MAYBE worth it because of the Greenbacks, but honestly nah.

Absolutely torched 1960B for $550. LOL

Orange PPC412 for $700? Right down the road from me? Why haven't I bought it? Celestion Classic Lead 80 speakers. You couldn't pay a sane person to take those speakers.

Beat to absolute shit Mesa 4x12? $1200, no scratch that price reduced to $800.

Am I bitter about cab pricing? Yeah. I'm not paying premium prices for something someone thrashed.

Dude I get you.

I can’t buy shit local anymore; my local shit is full of guys that think their 20 yr old Mesa cab is worth $1300.

I have a guy in MN that gets sick deals; whenever I need something I ask him to watch out and send him $$.

Inside of two weeks I have what I want for 1/3rd the price of local including shipping and a kickback of $50-$150 for him dealing with it.
