Rattlesnake Cable Co Review

I’m not in disagreement to any of that and I’m not sure if I mentioned it here or at TGF, but the bigger purpose in buying this was to have a working example of a professional quality snake so I can better make my own in the future, I don’t mind footing the bill for that. I did a little digging around user reviews and couldn’t find a single unhappy customer out there, so I went with ‘em.

It’ll be interesting to compare the cables once I start going down the “boutique” cable rabbit hole. Really, durability is my only concern with cables at this point. I’ve yet to hear anything close to a meaningful difference between cables over the years and if Amazon cables didn’t break after a month, it’s likely all I’d use.

Totally. And for snakes and looms, I'd rather pay someone else to make 'em. Too much work.

I can get a little geeky in areas like that, just to see if it’s something I can pull off or not. Pedalboards, A/B switches, simple stuff you don’t need a whole shop or a ton of tools for. Though after getting my first pro-made pedalboard where they used a 1/4” sheet of ABS instead of the 3/4” baltic birch I generally do taught me I’m probably better off buying pedalboards from now on to save my back!

My friend and I just got some Rattlesnakes. I had a coiled cable from Lava that literally falls out of some jacks. I wish I could explain it, but the sleeve that moves on the right angle side of the cable:

Doesn't stay put in these jacks:

I have several guitars with those output jacks and I just don't get it. Thinking the cable was fucked up, I got a replacement and it does the same thing, so I just keep those in the drawer for rainy days. Or I use the right angle side on the amp and the straight side on the guitar, but that's rarely ideal.

Fast forward to Rattlesnake, these guys are always doing sales and my friend and I have been joking about scooping these since Black Friday, 2024 lol. We finally bit the bullet. I couldn't believe the video that the owner sent only hours after the purchase; that kind of pink box experience is the exact kind of thing that sets your business apart from the competition. The cable is superbly built and does the job. Idk what more you can ask for. Oh...and the lead is actually long enough to come out of the guitar's output jack and wrap around the strap button without budging into the coiled part of the cable. Superb.

Count me +1 for a loom and a speaker cable
