What are you guys using for DI(Redeye, MW1, etc.)? Best way to get direct tracks recorded for re-amping? Any thoughts would be much appreciated...Thx!

I use an original Reamp. So damn easy. Just adjust the knob so the amp feels and sounds like it did with the guitar you recorded the direct track with and go. I get great results with it. Indistinguishable from just recording the original guitar through the amp...

I record the direct track using my Radial JDV-MK3 active direct box and I spilt that signal out to my Kemper to record something to give me the feel of the amp I'll be re-amping. I record the direct guitar and the Kemper at the same time.

The mw1 is a glorious rack...had one and sold it, but hope to get one this Black Friday (they usually have a sale)

I own and or have used and shot out all 3 mentioned and they all sound virtually identical. I have the Redeye 3D and original Reamp. The Reamp is the easiest but I like the LL just 1% better so I use it…lol With the Redeye, turn everything on 10 and the add in the overdrive switch with the OD on 10 and you have perfect unity gain off of protools to the amp. Literally identical to the guitar to within less then .10 db. But like Steve said the Reamp is hard to beat and very easy.

The Countryman Type 85 is my favorite DI. I prefer it into an API style preamp. The Reamp v2 is my favorite reamp box. That is all :)

Countryman Type 85 for going in, Radial JCR for going out.
