Not entirely sure the level of activity here but it seems like nothing is moving in the classifieds at any forum TBH. I have a bunch of tasty gear that I'm going to sell. Should I even bother posting it here/elswhere or should I just post up on evilbay and/or Reverb? Even some desirable gear seems to be sitting.

I have about 15-20 pedals to list and 6 amps (Mesa, Orange, H&K).

Sorry to the mods if this seems like an ad as its not my intention. I just wanted some advice on whether it was worth the time and effort to post up on classifieds. You can move this thread if you feel necessary.

If you set up a little display in front of your house I can stop by and take a look. Deal?

You will get a lot more eyeballs on Reverb or Sweetwater Used. I sold a guitar recently on Sweetwater Used, and got a fair price that wasn't under what I expected. I didn't get much interest on here, even though the price was slightly lower that SW price. It's just a tough time for sellers, unless you have something in extremely high demand.

Sellers are listing gear way to high (typically) check reverbs active listings vs the sold listings, and you will see a pretty big difference.

Common items are plentiful. But they do move when they are listed around the sold listings prices.

Less common items, unless youre marketing it at a steal of a price, has to wait for the person looking for something less common.

I haven't had much luck selling here. I can usually put the same thing on Reverb, and sell it a lot quicker and for more.

I have a crate of tan Dockers that will probably sell like hot cakes here once I list them, just going by some recent threads.

PM me for details. I offer bulk discounts!!!

In the last two weeks I’ve sold 2 half stacks and a guitar with total proceeds of about $9500. Stuff moves if you price it properly …just not here. lol

Actually, not true. The guitar was sold in response to a WTB thread here. The amps/cabs were local pickup so didn’t bother here and sold on Facebook. I seem to have more traction selling through the Facebook gear groups/ marketplace these days. I refuse to use Reverb to sell.

I put an offer on a power amp that had 5 or 6 sales in the 900-1,000 range. Guy listed his for $1,499 (new is $1799). Offered $1000 and sent link with all the aforementioned completed sales. Guy was delusional and wouldn’t budge on his price. Can’t take that big of a loss…. I’m like, dude….you already did.

Yeah, some of it is pretty funny, saw a regular old run of the mill Gibson LP Standard 60s listed at I believe $3400, I was close to sending him a link of all the sold listings.

Sellers & buyer here cain't have dialog unless you pass the double secret probation test.
And there is no buyer protection.
