Carlos is one of my Favorites from the 80's as well.
I liked him in Quiet Riot as a BAND. Never really looked too much as a player.
But made some cool songs though.

Carlos and his brother Rudy played in a local band named Snow in the late 70's/early 80's. They were big for a club band and had a self released EP. Very cool stuff and some catchy tunes (Crack the Whip, No way to treat a Lady... can't remember the rest, but a cool release).

Now I need to get online and see if I can find it.

cant really recall how it went exactly but I do remember the song title and hearing it at a Party long ago.

Who would win in a fight - Beach Vs Hammett?

Tuff one. They both seem like pussies to me.

Another little tidbit from Snow, and it's not mentioned on that site above, is that Stephen Quadros announced for Pride Fighting Championship for quite a while was a part of the Ring Reporter boxing organization. I ran into him at a small, local MMA event and he almost fell over when I told him I used to watch them at local clubs.

The only person I recall with a cocky attitude and disregard for other players was Dave Meniketti and Yngwie....and of course the infamous Vivian Cambell/Yngwie fued.

Carlos is cool as shit - super nice guy. "Battle Axe" was another one like "Eruption", "The End of the World" - that when I was a kid, unless you could play them, you didn't leave the house calling yourself a "guitar player"...

Are you guys really telling me that you think Hamster is better than DiMartini and Vandenburg or Sykes?? And don't bring commercial success into this either. When I said "rip them apart" I meant as a guitar player ie they could outplay hamster/beach. I didn't not mean feuding with other guitarists or having a cocky attitude like Malmsteen

Why so much hate for Cavazo?? I know he aint one of the all time greats, but jeesh come on. He fit great into Quiet Riot after RR left. Battle Axe is still awesome, he wrote some cool leads when he was with Quiet Riot (I really only liked Cavazo when he was in QR anyway). I know RR and EVH didn't play in hair bands you idiots but it was the same era as the guys I was talking about, late 70's - early to mid 80's. I still think EVH gets lumped in with hair bands, considering they all wanted to be Van Halen....
