Maybe you could retire the Michelin man and make that Hillary pic into an avatar.

My only intention was to celebrate what a great job she does and as an investigative reporter (about gear) she is a tenacious as any CNN or Fox news female reporter.

You don't really believe that do you? Do you know what those reporters go through to get those high profile jobs? I would think tracking down government officials in a corruption case or something would require a million times the more tenacious person instead of asking some burnt out guitar player on tour what amps he's using.

I am not comparing the content of the two careers, it's just a feel good Friday for a change. No I don't think that when you ask it like that, sure. I don't want to get into politics and corruption, there's enough of that in the music business

I think she does the best interviews on that site. She doesn't act so "That Metal Show" enamored with the players and asks a lot of decent questions. I know if she's doing the interview I won't hear lot of "Um, yeah, uh, cool, so that's tube drive right? Sweet, can you play some more?"

My eyeballs find her appealing but I'm trying to figure out what the connection is. I mean, does she play and is she actually coming up with the questions herself or is she just asking what someone else tells her to?

I don't understand the internet's fascination with her.
This in spades. Im baffled when people fawn over her and now there's a thread about her? I'll never get it but whatever floats ones boat...
Beat me to it...she's very average IMO. Unless you guys know something about her that I don't (spinning vagina? beer-filled tits?), I don't get it either.

I am with Rupe....tap the tits and make one vodka....You guys need to get out more. With respect to Rebecca Steel Panther would say, "...in Oklahoma City you're considered a fox." Maybe because I live in NYC I don't get the fascination....but I subscribe to their point of view. She is average at best. That's not to say that I would kick her out of bed, or that I don't think she has a talent...but you guys just need to seriously recalibrate you female appreciate scales.

Sure, it's a combination of the two.

What I like about her: she asks questions in interviews about things I actually want to know instead of things that are in every other interview by any other person. She also has a great ability to keep digging for the answer if the artist/product guy is (intentionally) getting off topic or avoiding the question. She's pretty. She's my age ;).

What generally adds to her appeal is the same thing why everyone wants an axe fx II or a cameron ccv. If more people like it and talk about it, the more people that also want it and like it. It's just common human behavior. (yes, there are always exceptions)

An interviewer that interviews? You don't say! Stop the presses.

I would just like to put on the record how much I enjoy Rebecca Dirks video reporting and presentation. She takes it to another level. Knowledgeable and she has the ability to make the person she is interviewing comfortable, so the results are always informative.
Great to see a woman succeed in the traditionally boys only arena of rock and roll guitar.

I believe this was the point of the thread you bunch of neanderthals.

I think this thread should be removed, it's disrespectful to a really great journo and nice person.

I wonder how many couch casting interviews she attended before landing that gig?? I'd fire one in her but she is nothing special at least not the supermodel you'd think she was with all the fuss.

While you may be right, it is silly to think this post would come across that way on a forum like this. Rebecca is hardly the first women journalist, even in the music or rock world (even if you take guitar gear into account.) Shit, Lisa Sharken ruled that world quite awhile ago and is still going strong. Not for nothing, she is and was much more of a journalist. So if this appreciation thread isn't at all about looks, you had me fooled. Where is Ms. Sharken's journalistic appreciation thread?

I can see how some threads here turn into Idiotfests, but I'm  on this one.

Regardless of what she looks like, she is light years smarter than the rest of the primates doing Premier Guitar interviews.

That Charles guy they use always seems stoned! :)

+1

I know I am thrilled any time a fellow twice my age looks at me as a sex object .... I am sure lots of guys in their 40/50/60/70 look at you as meat ?

PG is my favorite magazine and her and the rest of them there do a pretty good job.

Look guys and it's guys I'm talking to here. I started this thread honestly as I stated. I had hoped it would not degrade into what some have posted.
Please Rebecca, I think you are a great person and never meant to subject you to any disrespect.
To moderators, please delete this thread as I don't wish any more harm to Rebecca.
I believe in what I stated when opening the thread.
Again I sincerely apologize to Rebecca and Premier Guitar for any harm others may have done.
Rebecca, feel free to contact me and I will apologize to you personally. Honestly my point was to celebrate an excellent guitar reporter who happens to be a female.
I got a PM telling me Rebecca has seen the thread, which I had hoped she would feel acknowledged by. At no time did I ever degrade my comments with anything that I would be ashamed of..
This is the world we live in..
Again never my intention to upset anyone. I have a reputation on the Internet as well and it has to do with my music writing and my blog. Seriously we need to look in the mirror for the problem.

I mean, she's cute, but there's cute girls everywhere... but maybe I'm spoiled with the college life.

The interviews are good, but nothing groundbreaking. She typically asks the questions I expect to hear, and doesn't really have much personality in the interviews.

You old fogies are easily impressed. ;)

I think it's also the safety of saying whatever you want from behind a PC screen. Dude's will talk about bending her over in the sac and this and that, but if they walked past her at NAMM they wouldn't say a thing to her.

ah, the old talkin' and walkin' thing. everybody talks but nobody walks!

she's cute, and does a good job. doesn't mean i'm in the closet doing this :jerkit:

With all due respect, I have to say, maybe you need to look in the mirror and not us. You could have posted this on your blog and not here. I don't think anyone here is "harming" Rebecca. She is an adult, and can stand up for herself. No one here is questioning her abilities. Also, you don't seem concerned with any of the other PG staff getting "harmed." Odd. If anything many here are either disagreeing with you or their perceived notions of why you posted this to being with (with they are correct or not.)

You claim you wanted Rebecca to see this, which implies that you wanted her attention. That is a little odd to me. Like I said, you could have posted your appreciation on your blog or emailed her at PG and expressed your appreciation there if you felt necessary. This just seemed like a giant "Look how much I love you Rebecca thread" that went terribly wrong and now you feel it is our fault because we don't agree with everything you said. Don't blame us for that. I have no problem with Rebecca, yet I don't have to share your beliefs either and neither does everyone else. Once again, I am all for you having this opinion and for you requesting the lock if you feel the need to reject ours.

Oh, and hi Rebecca :wave

Another shout out for Lisa Sharken...hands down one of the best in the biz regardless of gender.
