For my main act I use an AxeFX, FOH, IEM etc etc (yawnnn) but my function band this isn't really nessesary since most our music is just chilled blues.

So I picked up a JMP-1 and a Macht 402 Solid State Power Amp to run into my custom 2X12 recording in Mono with an SM57.

I tried a pedal board but I'm a rack guy at heart. I bought a cheap Lexicon MPX-100 just to see how the rig works and I'm pleased with the results.

However the MPX-100 is cheap and limited. I HATED the G-Major 2, it failed on me twice and was so unintuitive. I also find it hard to get good "tri-chorus" effects in the cheaper units.

What would be a good 1U Multi Effects? I use mainly Chorus, Delay, and Reverb and happy to run the rig in stereo with 2 mics. MIDI would be awsome too for patch change syncing with the JMP1.

Thanks!

Based on what you've had and what you are using plus one for the Eclipse.
Thanks everyone. The Eclipse is big bucks, I feel I might aswel just take the AxeFX at that price haha. I'll start looking around :)

Cheers!

Intelliverb of which I currently have listed in the classifieds...

G System. Rack the brain and use the controller for your main pedal. Done.

Still have my red limited and it sounds so good still. Love it.

You can get the Boss GX700 for practically nothing. Like 120-170 although you may have to get it shipped from Japan. Killer little unit. The only reason I sold mine was I had a Quad Cortex at the time. Now I kinda wish I would have kept it as the QC is gone too.

If Eventide's Eclipse is too pricey, I'd look at a used Lexicon MPX-G2 (or MPX-1; both are much better than the MPX-100) or maybe an Ensoniq DP-2.

If its just for recording, use your computer for those fx. If the interface has 4 outputs you can send 2 to your power amp and mic it up.

Go step (multiple steps) up from the MPX 100 and grab a Lex MPX1. Much, much better and 150-300 for the unit. I had a PCM 81, which of course is fantastic at the same time as an MPX1 and for medium-high gain guitar there really wasn't a 800$ difference between them. The PCM is better, more detail in the tone but the MPX1 easily stayed with it. Compared to the Rocktron Intellifex I gigged with, the MPX1 is much better IMO.

any of the rocktron units
xpression
intellifex

I would get the FX8 and use it as a pedal board
FX8 seems like a good option, you want to do MIDI patches controlling the effects and the JMP1, so you'd need some MIDI footswitch anyway, so why not go with a used FX8 which let's you stick with the Fractal ecosystem that you already know? Cheaper than an Eclipse! If you could live with 2U, maybe an old AxeFX Ultra? Around same price as FX8. Your initial post was hard to understand if you intend to use for gigging or just home recording.

Now this looks really interesting!

I'm just looking to use a 1U rack effects with my MIDI Moose for a few patches.

I get your logic with going for an FX8 but I'm enjoying the little 3U rack I have and just want to add effects to the tone I have with the JMP1. I don't want another DSP computer with billions of options haha!

OK understand, since you've already got an MPX100, upgrading to a MPX1 or MPX G2 as others suggested would similarly avoid having to learn a completely new ecosystem. Eclipse seems like overkill for your situation.

TC G Force. Or if you want to get silly, an Eventide Eclipse. Or try to find a Lexicon MPX-1 or 2.
