Eastman has a fair rep.

Take a look at the Godin Kingpin 2. Godin is Canadian.

Otherwise if you want to spend a few more bucks you might take a look at some of the Guild line. Your insistence on P-90's kind of limits things unless you were willing to do a pickup swap when you got it. Too bad you aren't down here today, blues fest in Aranasas this afternoon. Have to check them out

Eastman are manufactured in China, but that said they are outstanding guitars for the money. I own one of their T64/V (ES 330 hollowbody) models with the super thin antique varnish finish. It came stock with Lollar underwound P90's.

The great things about it are the playability and tones. The neck is perfectly carved, and comfortable playing up and down the neck. Very much a Gibson Slim Taper profile. Going from my LP's, LP Specials, and SG it feels like one of the family.

The fit and finish is quality if you don't mind that the antique varnish finish will very quickly grow to look aged. At least with the finish on my model which to be fair is billed as such. The binding is well done, the fret work was good, no ledges, rough edges, or over spray.
