Eastman has a fair rep.

Take a look at the Godin Kingpin 2. Godin is Canadian.

Otherwise if you want to spend a few more bucks you might take a look at some of the Guild line. Your insistence on P-90's kind of limits things unless you were willing to do a pickup swap when you got it. Too bad you aren't down here today, blues fest in Aranasas this afternoon. Cheers brother.

Sweet music man too!

Vintage 70's Guild aristocrats are available well under 2k. Great sounding axes but not really big fat boys.

Yeah i had that amp when i was a kid in the 70s but the 130 watt version.
I was a n00b back then and wanted to be a rock star.

Louder is better to a 15 yo.

I quickly learned the Amp was totally
unusable and ditched it in the late 80s

Took me 40 yrs to find an mint clean one all original in 65 watt with 2 10s and the original 6CA7 (EL34) GE tubes and PI tube

Have you though about a Tom Anderson Bobcat? F*cking expensive, but good guitarmaker.

Another thing I'd look for is one of those ESP or Ibanez lawsuit guitars.

A Pat Metheny model might also float your boat.

The Godin seems perfect. Theres 2 5th Aves at my local GC can i check out to see how the neck is

Same guitar but with 2 buckers

I know you said no Chinese guitars, but I wouldn’t sleep on Eastman.

I’ve got one of their semi-hollows & it’s honestly better than most off the rack Gibson 335’s I’ve picked up. Resale value isn’t particularly great, so if that’s an issue, shop used.

$650 for this one on marketplace, with HSC & the original Gotoh tailpiece. Ditched the stock pickups for some Frailin Pure PAF’s, and it’s just fantastic. I bought a Heritage recently that’s supposed to “replace” it, but every time I pick it up I can’t bring myself to list it.

Nice guitar, but what the f*ck is a "sex panther"? I can just imagine telling your bandmates, "Hold on, boys, I'll just bring out the sex panther" haha
