Has anyone ever run a Recto (or Recto style) preamp into a Mark series power amp?
I know a chunk of a Recto's tone comes from the power section so I wouldn't expect it to sound like the full amp. But I'm kind of wondering if it may sound like some modded Recto that are out there? Or maybe keep the Recto DNA but tighten up some of the low end flub?
If you've done this what did it sound like? pretty good? different but interesting? or complete garbage?

isnt that basically what the F100s or some shit are?

I remember John Browne of monuments mentioning a few times he previously had a recto recording preamp and ran it into a 2:90 and that was his favorite sound he’s got. I think he was looking to rebuild that rig at some point.

It was my understanding that the low-end from the Recto comes from the preamp/tone stack, and it's the poweramp that's really bright and open.
