One other point I would like to make is, it looks like the seller is in Italy, correct? I don't think things are as overpriced there as they are in Brazil, but reality is that, Boogie products are way more expensive outside the US than they are here, for obvious reasons. So, I would imagine a Boogie amp, made here, that is already very hyped up in the US, would easily cost even more out there. So, the seller, who someone here mention is an honest person and great to deal with, might be getting bullied for no reason.
Prices went up in the US and are on par with what the amps did cost in Europe. It used to be like 30% more here than in the US. But, currently there are no Mesa amps available in Europe, so I`m expecting a price raise, when they are back in stock here.

Get a G and have it modded to C spec. What am I missing? Agree with the Hermansson comment. Just brutal.

Mesa made shittier versions for so long that less shitty versions are worth more.
Hey now!!! Having a Soldano pre with a Boogie power section kicked ass!! LOL I know I've told ya before that I was fortune enough to have my pick of about 15 Rectos, all under under serial #500. There was no talk of Revs. It was just what sounded the best. I happened to pick #31 which happened to be a C. They sounded great because it wasnt a Mark type of sound and it wasnt a Marshall either. Red channel could do a great chug but still be tight, but for me the orange channel was where it really shined As a former owner they definitely had their place, but the internet hype has blown it waaaaayyyyy out of proportion. The chase is sometimes better than the catch I guess.. LOL

If selling my RevC, I would try to shoot for something like 5k and would be very happy with 6k. But I doubt I would even get the 5k, but that`s just me.
5K is a good deal. It's what I sold my C to a forum member last year, and it's what I paid for it a year earlier. I had a lineup of guys wanting it too.

what is it with these?? i dont even know what makes these so coveted.
It's the very first Recto, which is collectable on it's own. Like Tiago said, 260 or so total. But, tonewise, they are fn amazing. Straight up kicks the shit out of any other version recto, 5150, and as cool as the SLO is the C I had ate it up for what I like anyway. It thumps at volume like a Triple or damn close to a Wizard, clarity as good as anything...straight in it sounds like an already boosted F but way tighter...boosted the C becomes insanely good. Hermansson Rectos? Nah...not similar in the least. At least from the clips I've heard, and while they are cool they seem to have a hole in the mids vs a stock Recto. The C, you can dime the mids AND the bass and it's just better mids and better bass...you can't dial in a bad tone with the EQ. It loved every speaker I have, and the feel is different but equally addictive like a C+. Rectos aren't known to be amps with great lead tone BUT the C delivers, I actually liked it best among all Mesas including the 4 C+ I had....SRG, HRG, HRG++, and a Coli.
It's a killer amp and compared to a G, like a totally different circuit altogether. Like unrelated in any way if you compare the tone.
Worth that coin? Well, if you are willing to cough up 8K for a C+, then I wouldn't hesitate to cough up that much for a C Recto.
Just my 2 cents....

BTW I C modded an F Triple, and while it was a nice improvement to the red modern it still doesn't do what a real C does.

Edit: I should also add that the C I had, was with Mike B within the last 2 years...so it was in perfect condition regarding the circuit.

The C mod to the G’s and F’s is a nice improvement, but only takes it so far IME vs a real C, kinda like when I had my iii’s ++ modded they still didn’t measure up to a real iic+. Those amps (F, G and mark iii) still have their inherent tonal and feel qualities vs the real deal even after the mod (like the iii++‘s still had that messier, less musical high end vs a real iic+), but just voiced (mostly eq wise) closer to the real versions

Hermansson Recto’s are killer. I’ve got 2 myself and about to get a 3rd (triple this time). I actually sold both my 5 Gain Stage Hermanssons’s since I much prefer the Recto’s, but they really are their own flavor IME when compared side by side to stock 2ch Recto’s (like my C and the D and F I had). It was kinda apples vs oranges imo, although I think many amps are vs Hermansson’s since they have a very distinctive flavor

Henric is the nicest guy, but I would take almost any amp ever made over a hermy recto. Couldn’t be further from what I like. I did like the feel and the volume clean up though - that was cool, but kind of irrelevant when you don’t like the tone in the first place.

The last chrome chassis F I sold was sent to hermannson by the buyer and I died a little inside when he told me that. I honestly would not have sold it to him if I had known that was his plan

I play the brutz and bought Blake’s hermansson. The amp is great, and a lot of fun. However, I’d take my rev E recto over my herm and mark IIc++. Don’t get me wrong they are extraordinary amps. I was just brought up as a recto guy.

They are a very particular flavor. For more modern or faster styles of metal they work very well and the Herm Rev G Dual I have is different than the Herm Single I have

I would likewise take my Rev C over my iic+ and 2 Hermansson Recto’s if I had to choose, but no other amp I’ve had yet can rival the Hermansson’s in tightness, attack and fast response, so that makes them a lot of fun and keepers

it would sell immediately, which would indicate you weren’t asking enough.

Nailed it.
IMO $8k for any amp is insane, but unless you’ve played a C, reserve judgment.

These threads about price don’t really go anywhere. If someone wants a Rev C and has the means they’ll pay the price and if they at least have half an ear drum left they probably won’t want to sell it

I prefer to just talk about gear without getting into price or whether it’s worth it. A lot of rare gear besides Rev C’s are crazy money these days, but like it or not some of this gear has exceptional sounds that only they can do (IIC+, ‘90’s Blueface, ‘50’s/‘60’s Strats, Tele’s, LP’s, klons, real PAF’s, vintage Gretsch pickups, etc). At the very least it’s a good experience for crazy gearheads like us to plug into them one time and experience for ourselves. It’s kind of like how a nature enthusiast should probably see all the iconic nature sights in the world rather than complain they’re overrated from pics/vids and not worth the trip or can see something almost as good close to where they live lol

Whether or not something is “worth” an asking price is irrelevant. If someone is willing to pay it, apparently that’s its worth.
Why is paying 6-$8000 for a Rev C so much more insane than paying $6000 to an elderly German who smokes, eats feces, and spends entirely too much time fucking around online, considering his days are numbered and he’s got a five year waiting list? I’ll take my C every time.

I can’t get excited about this Rev C Recto pimping.
I bought into this same rhetoric and bought a 2C+ and to me, it was just another amp. A very expensive another amp at that.

One thing my advanced years have taught me, is once you dial in a certain amount of gain/overdrive, a lot of these amps sound VERY similar. The differences are in the feel and tightness or spongy response mainly.
All the over the top gain also makes all your expensive guitars sound the same too.

You guys who are my age, 59 , and you still get off on this over the top gain and the weedly weedly leads…….More power to ya.
