Can't seem to make up my mind with these modes on my 3ch triple.

unboosted i lean towards modern on ch3
boosted on ch3 vintage sounds pretty fat and sweet too though

what do you guys dig?

Boosted Modern for rhythm, Boosted Vintage for leads.

Modern (with the gain at around noon) and a clean boost

It depends. My band's original stuff calls for the red channel / modern all night long. Just awesome (and I don't crank the mids HAHAHA - evil laugh). Cover stuff is mostly orange vintage. I never got into the boosting thing, I've tried SHO, Katana, OD1, Java Boost...they all add noise and compression at home volumes and (IMO) little difference at stage volumes. Probably user error

RED Settings: Presence: 10:00 / Volume: depends / Gain: 2:00-2:30 / Bass: 1:00 / Mid: 11:00 / Treble: 1:00

In any event, I think my Triple Rec sounds like crap at home/lower volumes, irrespective of settings, but is one of my most favorite live amps of all time.

To me, the red channel modern tones ARE the "rectifer tones."

Both channels have their applications but I couldn't run either without a boost at low volumes here at home.

Man I lived the Spongy setting on Orange on my 2ch.

I never take it off of Modern

I'll have to play with vintage more.

In all seriousness, I have never given vintage a fair shot, I just always go for that modern tone.

I find vintage to be tighter, punchier and a lot smoother. Boost it, and It's great.

This is the way to go IMO.

Exactly what I do. Boosted vintage has a great lead sound IMO and modern kicks all kinds of ass with a boost for rhythm work.
