because jake was never in dokken

Just because a player's most famous riff involves chugging A between triads on the D, G and B strings means he can never write a riff like that again? If that's the case the death metal guys are screwed since they can't trem pick a riff... Maiden can't play a riff solely of E, D, C, G anymore... Eddie can't tap... Paul Stanley can't dance instead of playing guitar... (Ok, maybe that last one is a plus if he stuck to playing over dancing)

But come on, it's one riff. He's known for a certain type of riff because it was so different at the time, he can't pull something like it out in one song?

Home of the arm chair quarterbacks.

Because the Douche Patrol has been out in full force here lately. If Jake came out with something new and original sounding, they'd all be bitching that it didn't sound close enough to his old material...then they'd go stare some more at the guitars and amps that they've amassed yet can barely play, before coming on here and telling seasoned working musicians what it takes to get good tone. ;)

Ok. Let me get this straight.

I'm an armchair quarterback, a douche, and I can barely play because I don't like a song or a singer in a particular band.

Got it. Just wanted to be clear. ;)

Man I just do NOT like it. Not sure why. Not terrible but certainly not digging it.

Yeah, I'm not into it at all, no matter how hard I try.....

Feel the same. Going to get the record though and keep trying.

That wasn't directed at anyone in particular.

That comment represents the fact that there have been a bunch of guys lately that have had this negative, almost jaded view of things on the forum. From saying a 12 year old who plays a Vai piece is a trained monkey to slamming Jake for sounding too much like Jake. Even going as for as to bitch about Lynch not returning to his roots when he's said himself that he wants a change.

I don't like Hendrix but I cannot deny his impact or playing. He just doesn't speak to me. But rabid (TGP) keyboard jockeys would flog me in public for even saying that.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Jake, but I'm not digging this tune. The 'yelling' style of vocals doesn't make my ears happy.

Well I liked this recording of the song better than when I saw it live, possibly because there was less alcohol flowing through Jake's veins on this version than when I saw him live. I don't know, this just sort of sounds 'off' to me. Not a great mix, not a great tone, not a great song. It's not bad by any means, but just...not there yet. I say the next Red Dragon Cartel record (if there is one), will be better. This shows promise, but it ain't there just yet for me.

+1

The song itself was good. But the vocals on this song kind of killed it for me. I love Jake's music. Bought this album. I hope it rocks.
