Red Seven Amp Central?

Anyone have experience with the Red Seven Amp Central Evo?

I’ve had a Two Notes Torpedo Live in my rack since 2014 for live gigs and after a stint with a Fractal FM9 for a couple fly gigs, I want to move to stereo cab IRs and stereo wet FX post IR. Hoping the Red Seven is a step up quality wise, not just add features that my Torpedo doesn’t have.

Anyone have experience? Good bad ugly?

Got one. It's great. No bad/ugly experiences other than needing the app to do some of the deep dive features. Sometimes balancing the left/right can be a pain when you start mixing IRs. Make sure phase is sorted before you import the IR. Prefer it to my Suhr RLIR, but my Suhr is still great, too. Vastly prefer it to the Two Notes stuff.

Also, practical question: does it come with the rack wings that it shows in the pics, or do you have to buy them aftermarket from another company?

I love the EVO, it’s part of the center of my studio. 11 amps and a synergy rig on a switcher all going through the Evo. I love the stereo outs with dual IR’s going in to the AxeFx for time based effects too. I used a Suhr RL for many years and still like it, but it’s mono. I also have the Two-Notes Captor and Fractal X-Load. I like the RedSeven best.

I just ordered a set of rack ears and racked it up about a week ago. $100 dollars and I got it by emailing them.

What a monster rig! Hell yeah. Do you run the Axe in the stereo loop or after the IR outs? Any difference between the two methods? How’s the noise gate on the Amp. I’ve been playing a noisy dirty stage a couple times the last few months and I must confess- an adjustable noise gate built into my IR loader and pre wet FX sounds ideal.

My path: pedalboard -> amps -> Evo (left, right out) -> pair of EQ’s -> Eventide H90 -> AxeFx -> computer for playing through studio Monitors or recording. Never used the loop or the noise gate on the EVO. I guess I could stick the EQ’s and H90 in the loop, but this way works great. I have a noise gate on my pedalboard and the AxeFx has one on the Input. So I don’t have any static.

Evo is flexible, no one way to do it. I really like it because it does the job well and doesn’t load up with features I don’t need.
