Redneck Pool

I'm not looking forward to trying to figure out the sand pump.
You could make it a natural (like an aquarium) setup instead bro'.

A plastic garbage bin, a bunch of scoria or even pea gravel, a pump and some hoses. Done.

You run it as if it's a fish tank filter so if anything that needs to break down without turning the pool into an ammonia / nitrite bomb, the aerobic bacteria in the filter will take care of it. Keep it covered to prevent sunlight's causing algae.

Chemical-free, so in essence, it's not only the cheapest but also the healthiest method of running a pool that I'm aware of.

I'm sure Floyd eye is gonna give me a verbal berating for not using beams under the joists, but the span is not that big and it's just for my wife, so she can sit in a pool. She always wanted a pool, but our yard is too sloped and I'm not staying in MA. I'm not looking forward to trying to figure out the sand pump. More joists to go in, and more supports, stairs leveled, but I wanted to get the frign lattice done first, as it has a frame and is a pain in the ass. It's not really up to code, but for a floating deck, it will be fine. I have cedar to go on top. Fucking rains every Saturday which is the only day I have to work on this. I hate carpentry. Too many fucking tools required to do this shit.

Looks good my man.
I couldn't cut my way out of a wet paper bag
@Von - nice. Love me some cedar. Especially the strength AND the smell

That was 5 years 40 years ago. Things have changed since then i think?
Or maybe OP is using the term in an unusual way, or possibly using the term in comparison to Boston?

Well it's just a term used for the pool. Redneck wants a pool. Redneck can't afford pool. Redneck converts stock tank into a pool for cheap cash.

Now redneck is not confined to geography. It's a state of mind. I always got a long better with people from down south. Intuitively, I know I am a redneck.

Looking forward to the hot tub conversion.
Seriously though, nice work so far.

Now back to business. My tank, on the far side of the pool is 2" out of level due to the patio. Being I'm trying to level a circle, makes this difficult. I have to raise up the end of the pool opposite to the deck 2". The problem is raising a circle 2".
I can't just shim the edge as the bottom of the pool has to be supported. Sand is not going to work as it will wash away.
I thought about making a bunch of these with some hole cutouts to rest against the round galvanized edge, reducing them in size as I go towards the middle and mabye have some different size longer boards, thinner as I go towards the middle, to support the pool floor.

Thanks boss. Heated? Oh that's another nightmare that's probably not going to happen, LOL. I can just imagine all the problems with the Chinese heaters. I've seen that picture. Question, how to get the wheel barrel out of the pool once the water is hot enough :)

You just dump the logs into the water to put the fire out, duh.

If it were me i'd put a layer of pool-shaped plywood under the tub, and then shim that.
Not sure how robust the seams of those tubs are. YMMV.

If it were me I would remove the pool and grade the surface under it to level.

It's concrete.
Well there are ways to level concrete but it’s not cost effective probably. That being the case I think whatever I used I would want not to be something that would rot, like wood.

You could trace the edge of the pool, noting where the “lean” is, then remove the pool and build up the low side with concrete. Just use a bonding agent under the new concrete you pour.

Good point about the wood and rotting. I mean this is in MA so not sure how permanent this will be?
The deck is also wood

What is most prone to rotting in my experience is the posts that have contact with the ground. I have simpson stron tie CPS standoffs to keep the posts off the ground. I'd rather not mess with the concrete as this might not be permanent and will most likely be moved in the off season.

I can tell you how to keep posts from rotting or at least slow it down significantly but it’s too late for that I suppose.
