Peavey Bandit 75 bought new in 1987. Played the shit out of that thing until 1994 when I picked up an ADA MP-1 and an H&H power amp. Had the ADA until 1999 when I discovered HCAF and was convinced that I needed a better rig. lol

Oh Wow!!! That might have been the exact same amp I had when I first started playing guitar!!  I had no pedal for boosting either. Just had to use that awesome bad ass onboard gain. :bleh:

For the win  !!!!!

Peavey Studio Pro. Been a long time. Can't imagine what it would sound like now plugging into it. But back in the day those Peavey's were everywhere.

I had something similar that I used for learning songs before I got a boom box. Soundesign with turntable, 8 track, cassette, with built-in slots next to the turntable to store the tapes. I would record my albums to tape then learn the guitar parts from there.

Moving up from the Soundesign to a Toshiba boom box (with auto reverse!) was a game changer.

I remember being 16 and my friend (who now has awesome tone) bought a metal muff. First practice with it, we all thought it sounded amazing.
You must be young if a Metal Muff was available at 16.

When I was 16, Boss MT-2 or Hyper Metal was where it's at. ;)

The first amp I played a lot on was a Crate g212. The first one that was mine was a Marshall valvestate. I don't remember the model.

I think my first one was a small Gorilla combo as well. Then I got a BOSS MG-80. I actually did a gig with that amp and to this day I don't know how the hell I did. LOL!

My first amp was a Roland Cube-30 combo amp. I regret selling it.

My second amp was a Line6 Flextone II combo amp. I deeply regret buying it! I couldn't even sell it, I had to give it away to my cousin. I don't know what he done with it (he has two double-kick drumkits, an electronic drum kit and a mini drum kit for his one-year-old son).

If it wasn't for the interwebs...We'd all still be happy with those amps..ignorance is bliss!!

My first amp was a Holmes 15 watt thing. I can't even find a picture of the one i had. Sounded like shit

First amp ever was a Sears 5XL. Bought it with a Tiesco Del-Ray from a friend who decided to be a drummer when I was 10.

--AH YES,... ""AUTO-REVERSE"" it was a bigger mystery than the Bermuda triangle. No one new how it worked but we all had a theory......

-(LEARNING SONGS)-in GUITAR PLAYER magazine-(the only electric guitar magazine in resistance at the time)-there was an add for a cassette deck with. the1/2 speed option for learning solo's for $300-$400. ( in the late 70's that was ALOT)
-(the PENNY. TRICK)-we kept the dust cover to DE-SEED OUR WEED & pennies next to the record player arm to fix skips, skips from picking up & dropping the needle a million times trying to learn a song by playing along
With it, then we would get together and compare who was right-(nobody ever was)-& what was in the dust cover-(weed)-

Oh man.. that bad ass onboard gain was pretty bad... the amp itself was pretty cool and the reverb on it worked well. I got mine mail order from a JC Penny catalog.. the good ol days!

What surprised me is that the auto reverse function never broke down on the Toshiba. With all that was going on behind the little plastic window I was sure it was gonna fail sooner than later but it never did. Well built unit, it was.
