retubed my Egnater Rebel 20 (thanks to all on their input on my previous posts!) and what a difference

installed a nearly perfect matched pair of NOS NIB Sylvania 6V6GTY and biased to 43MVDC to run just a tad cooler. dropped in a Sylvania 5751 in V1, a Bugle Boy 12AX7 in V2, and an Amperex 12AX7 in V3 and deoxit all the pots. the difference is huge. the 5751 in particular smoothed out the front end taking out the 'ice pick' spike on the treble. nice headroom, but still has some grit (although i usually play clean, or run pedals for distortion). running through a custom cabinet with 4 8" 8 Ohhm drivers. sounds like an entirely diferent amp.
