Im going to retube my JCM 800 Kerry King. KT88's for power tubes. Any recommendations? Hoping Mightywarlock can chime in.

I think they dont have the best rep around here, but my local tech put jj kt88's in my jmp and it sounds killer. My other guitarists jcm800 has gold lion kt88's in it, and his sounds a little darker to me but could just be settings, or the age on the tubes

I had two of them (still own my 1st one).
I was surprises when the 2nd one didn't sound anything like the 1st one, and quickly sold it off.
I still have the stock "Marshall" labeled Sovteks in mine.
Haven't had a need to change them yet...
I would probably try JJ's next? i dunno...when it comes to KT88's (which I have 3 amps that use them), I actually have no real idea...
I think I have Winged C's in my Twin Jet...
I think, anyways....Reinhold put them in but I don't remember...

The Winged C KT88's and The Penta Labs KT88SC are good choices, for the longest lasting and most reliable, and yes most expensive.......
