That's a good point...but in Yngwie's case, he would pretty much cut everything the younger artists suggested and keep maybe a few lyrics.... then back to the garden centre for more inspiration. " I drive fast...because I can. Do you know who I am? I am the Demon Driver. " Anyway, I'm beating a dead horse..And FWIW, I feel that a lot of these aging artists need some youthful artists working with them - in the studio, helping the write songs, I don't care - just something.
With the vast majority of artists, the creativity seems to dwindle as they get older. Phoning in the same old stuff, over and over again. And it's probably even worse with artists like Yngwie, that demand 100% control on probably every aspect of writing and recording. I really wish he could try to team up with some young guns, even if only for the studio work, would probably result in much better stuff than what's he's doing nowadays.
Steeler was pretty good too apart from the shitty singing and sub par songwriting. The riffing and solos were pretty killer.Linengrad 89, Spanish Castle Magic.
To look that champion with a Stratocaster on
like a f'n king..yeah right you hosers.
Clearly this Swedish madman feels the fatness of groovy in Jmi.., but displays almost mutant like flurries that would GIVE Jimi a buzz.
Let's see you pull that.
His phrasing is so mind boggling.
I only dig early Yngwie stuff like any of the greats of our timea.
How about some f'n Alcatrazz?
Don't worry...
Live is even worse...
lol at rick rubin or bob rock reigning him in !What would be awesome would be if Yngwie ditched his home studio/DIY setup he always uses and got together with a marquee producer who might reign him in and bring way more focus to an album. Someone like Bob Rock or Rick Rubin etc would be good, plus put together a crack band of amazing players who can obviously play and maybe co-write some stuff. Add in a singer who can do a bit of the old school wailing, but isn't too cheesy too while we're at it.
Obviously he'd have to leave his ego at the door so I very much doubt this would happen!
The real question is.. how many producers would YJM fire before he just took over and produced it himself?lol at rick rubin or bob rock reigning him in !
dream on like steven tyler man
Hard to argue with that really. He is def. that.I feel like whatever it was that drove him to become the player he was at 18 years old...he lost very shortly after that. He became a rock star/guitar god and it was a wrap. I still love the very early stuff but anything after that just isn't interesting for me. I still believe he's one of the greatest guitar talents ever.
