What are you using these days?

Deciding on my next purchase and a pair of speakers is a very strong runner on the list. Particularly Scumback or 75w Creamback.

I like heavy tones but not harsh. Metal, metalcore, heavy hardcore kind of tones. If I get speakers I will be comparing them to V12 Legends in my Mills 2x12 which sound very good to me in the room (until you put a mic on them).

Will consider others so please suggest me, will send bobs and vagene.

What Scumbacks for these tones? What other speakers should I be looking at?

Sorry for the Captain Obvious question, but have you ever tried the V30x75 combo with it? They sounded killer the Rev 2 I had.

I do have a V30 cab as well. Haven't tried the X combo with this particular amp. Used to run that with my VHT. Definitely something to consider.

Yeah, definitely worth the consideration if you have half the equation already. Imo it's better than when I tried it with all V30's or 75's.

Look at the data sheets. Stay with speakers that top out around 5k, once youre at 7k things can get icepicky.

Dont add the gt75 if you dont like strident highs. I tried scumback for darker modern metal but found that it was a little too polite sounding. Great speaker though.

If happy with the distortion and breakup already why not try an EQ with lpf in the loop to trim off the top.

I had old tonetubby hemps when they were new. THICK low mids and subdued highs, they were great with my diezel but only rated at 50 watt, broke up easily. Could try hemps.

In the Mills cab, I'd go with 1 Scumback H55 and 1 Scumback H75LDC. I had this mix in a Mills 412 and it was awesome. The H55 works great in the oversized cab.

Good call on the data sheets molten.

Whatever I do get, I want a matching pair. Which would you prefer?

They'd go in the 2x12 but possible X in the 4x12 with either V30 or V12 Legend.

Scumback, then I'd go with the H75. Love those speakers. 2 H55s in an oversized 212 may be overly heavy on the low-end.

I recently bought some Alnico Creams and those are pretty awesome speakers. On their own, they didn't have enough of the grind I wanted, but blended with a Creamback H75 or Scumback H75 and they sound incredible. 2 Creamback H75s would be awesome too I'd imagine. I've only every used creambacks in a blended cab though....Creams, V30s, J75s

V30/V12 in a 412 sounds pretty damn good. V30s tend to record real easy. Not sure what issues you're having with micing the V12s, but I havent had any problems in that area.
