I have an 07 revision blue Uberschall, and am looking to retube the amp. everything with the amp is fine, I am just not fully digging the el34's. id love a tighter tone with more headroom, and was contemplating kt88's but I'm not sure how they would sound in terms of the mid voicing. another option is 6550's but I have no experience with them. I also read that the JJ E34L power tubes are a bit more aggressive and in your face and have a tighter sound so I'm lost lol. what are you guys thoughts on the matter ?

Buy a new 2016 Rev Blue... they are tighter sounding than the previous model years. KT88s will work if you change the bias resistor. The TJ and Blue have the same OT. A boost in front & eq in the loop will help as well.
