I know this is old.. But This is the truth and obviously the problem still exist and not enough have heard about it..Stay away! Stay away! from Reverb!! Another thing that I thought was strange,Some kind of Glitch! All of the Reverb avatars in Gmail had took on the appearance of the Tik Tok logos. WTH Are ya kidding me right now???I haven't done any business with Reverb for 3 months. A week ago, I received an email saying I'd be billed $26 for a "shipping label correction." The last transaction I did with them was on Feb 12 and they made me wait over 2 weeks to receive a payout for repair costs to my amplifier that was damaged -- according to them "damaged in transit" -- because they said they had to "make sure my account was clear or any charges or fees due."
Here we are over 2 1/2 months later and they charge my bank account $26. Well, I tried to give them a call but they removed all contact information on their website. You can no longer call their number, nor can you schedule a call with them as they started doing a little while back. I tried emailing them to dispute the charge, but the support@reverb.com is no longer accepting messages. They direct you to their customer support center website but the chat is gone, and they have removed links to the submission form for help requests. I've been looking on their help site which says at the bottom of their support articles is a link to submit a support ticket but there is no link. You have to go and dig it up inside their support articles. Then, all they provide is a form that forces you to choose categories and a tiny little description box to type the problem.
Basically, they took over 2 weeks to clear my account then came back over 2 1/2 months later and billed me $26. They operate on a monthly billing cycle, and my account was at $0 balance for 2 1/2 months before they suddenly put the charge on my account.
Not only are they fraudulently charging me, the fact that they're charging me $26 for a "shipping label correction" is outrageous! I can understand maybe a $2 or $3 charge since shipping rates change daily, but $26 damned dollars is ridiculous! I shipped the amp in early February. They cleared my account 3 weeks later in late February. The weight/dimensions were correct because tracking shows the weight of the package when it was scanned in and it matches with the weight entered on the label. In fact, the label was MORE than the actual weight.
Now the charge has gone through my bank and I have no other way to dispute except through my bank. I don't know if my bank can reverse the charge but Reverb.com is not allowing people to contact them to dispute anything. I advise you to check your Reverb accounts and keep an eye on them because it's outrageous that they can come back 3 months after clearing your account and charge you absurd fees for shipping label adjustments.
But again , I hate to rehash this But since this thread exist, I just assume elaborate on it more and let the record show that nothing has changed over the years.. This should speak volumes, So I just added rather than start a new thread about it... So let this be a warning. When people are being done wrong it should be recorded and should be researchable for the public in one easy to find read.. It is all true, I believe MistahGuitah! and the others.. This is not someone over reacting. There is no way these could be mistakes. And I'm not buying into it after today and reading the complaints. mine is not just an honest mistake on Reverbs part either....The First time and only thing I've ever sold on reverb 100%.
And they got me for 15 bucks before all this! Aside from what they billed me, and I made no fuss about it back then.. ..Here almost 2 months later they decide to hit my bank for 35 bucks today without my acknowledgement.. Customer chat wanted to give me a credit but I said I haven't bought or sold anything and I told her that they went into my bank without my permission and acknowledgement. And that is breaking the law! and it is all documented. And I want my money back in the bank now!
She said We have more than the usual customers we need to continue email. I Gave her my phone number and I said give me the number of your supervisor this is un acceptable. She cut off chat and sent an email..
And when I open my profile they brought back the item that I sold back in early September.. That thing has long been since completed and they took $75.00 and that was 15 bucks over the bill that they left which states paid in full!!??!!??
There is no mistake here.. It has been 2 months since I've used reverb and even before they overcharged me it was already overcharged.... I'm not rich, I know what I owe and I know what is in the bank. I budget my money and I need it!!!! Once this is all done I'm deleting the account because it holds onto your bank card.. If I can't delete it I'll cancel the card and wait 2 weeks for a new card..
I do people right! I gave someone an awesome deal on a pedal board with a lot of with its for free, and I expect the same from wealthy businesses. at least do what is in writing. obviously that is not good for them..
I will dispute this in the morning at my bank and after reading this and I will go to BBB. This has to stop. I sure cant afford to buy anything anymore! My first and last sell at Reverb ever.. How I've never seen a complaint before now is beyond me???? I'll go back to eBay for sure. Where I've Never had a problem selling ever in 15 -20 years! To Hell with the Reverb
