So..I just sold an amp on Reverb and...I won't get paid until the amp is delivered?
Did I miss something??

I sold an Aristides guitar on reverb. Not cheap. And had to wait 3 hole weeks after payment before they were released ??

Same thing happened to me twice. Once for a bass, another time for a guitar. Totally sucks, but at least I got my money at the end of it.

I think they do it for "high risk" transactions. Usually if you haven't done transactions at that value, or you're shipping for the first time. Also I think if you're shipping internationally.

That was part of the PSA that I put out in form of a quote from an email to sellers.

The change was on the 19th IIRC. The day before the changeover, I pulled most of my items. Fuck that and fuck them.

Hi Reverber,

Thanks for choosing to sell on Reverb. We want you to have the best selling experience possible so we’re constantly evaluating and evolving the tools and services we offer to help you sell gear easier and faster.

What’s Changing

On May 19, 2020, Reverb Payments will become the exclusive payout option for all sellers.
When an item sells, your funds will simply be deposited directly into your bank account.
While PayPal will no longer be a payout option, buyers can still purchase using PayPal and all other payment methods accepted via Reverb Payments.

Please take this opportunity to add or confirm your bank information. Just go to your Shop Settings, add the info under “Reverb Payments,” and you’ll be on your way to getting your funds deposited directly into your pocket. Until you add a bank account, your money will simply stay in your Payout Balance.

Why It's Changing

Reverb Payments allows us to provide you with the safest possible experience.
All transactions made through Reverb Payments qualify for Reverb Protection, so you'll get direct support from a musician who understands the value of your gear in the unlikely event that anything goes wrong with a sale.
Reverb Payments also allows you to accept a wide variety of payment methods, which attracts more buyers and helps you sell gear more quickly.

Have questions? More information is available in Reverb’s Help Center.

With the new bullshit, if it's over $100 I won't list it. I will just try local or forum, or ebay or just keep the damn thing and shove it in a drawer

I believe this only applies to first-time sellers?

They no longer pay out in PayPal anymore.

You could be right regarding first time SELLERS.

OP, is this your first sale?

Not my first rodeo...about 60 5 star sales on reverb

I don’t get any logic in releasing the funds by PP/Reverb. Sometimes You get money after filling Tracking number, sometimes after delivery and sometimes You have to beg for Your money.

I did some more reading. After this "first" sale with their new and improved payout system, when the delivery is confirmed you'll be paid. All transactions after that one will be paid once you supply a tracking number. Reverb will hang on to your money until these requirements are met. Then they deposit straight into your bank account. With their new system for a $654.99 sale. A processing fee of $17.93 was deducted as well as the selling fee of $22.92 was deducted so....it looks to me that they want the little piece that paypal gets in their pocket

I closed my acct like someone stated above, fuck that and fuck them?

Yep +1000

More bs I do not need. Even if it is a separate account just for gear/online purchases... it’s not worth the headache... especially if something goes bad. Reverb support is the absolute worst to deal with. A bunch of hipster kids drinking their mocha spiced lattes... that keep telling you they are “investigating” and will get back to you... translation: we hope to frustrate the fack out of you, so you drop it or forget about it. Never again. F-Reverb.

Back to eBay I went. The last amp I sold on Reverb, scam attempt....Closed my account as soon as I smelled the scam. Not that eBay is much better, but Reverb seems to be where eBay was 8 yrs ago, simply putting SO much power with the buyer. Neither are very safe choices for selling.

Usually if you provide tracking before noon, you may get paid full 5PM Central. Worst case next day. Never had to wait until received

Me neither. Only issues I've ever had with Reverb, are as a buyer. All my sales have gone without a hitch, and get paid as soon as I provide tracking.

Same here. I'll buy a label through Reverb, tracking number automatically gets posted, and I'll get paid next day. Usually I won't even have the guitar packed up or make it to the shipping store before I get paid out.

I don't see the issue....sold a bunch of stuff, never had a problem transaction. Reverb releases funds as soon as I add tracking and they're deposited the next business day....y'all must be some new sellers??

A lot of you are forgetting the fact that you'd be paying 10% fees on guitars & amps on ebay still if it weren't for Reverb!! They only reduced it to 3.5% to be competitive. :gethim:

Everyone hates paypal until they can't use it anymore.....go figure.

What I don't understand is...I have 30 5 star ratings as a seller and "normally" would get paid as soon as the deal was paid for? With the new system I apparently have to wait like a newb for the dough  ..Not a big deal I guess but I still don't get it?
