I'm building a custom partscaster strat and am torn between a reverse headstock or regular. I am going to be ordering a custom warmoth neck and can't decide if I want traditional or reversed. I like both, so I thought I'd see what the general opinion is around here, and maybe see some pics of custom strats y'all have built

I am a huge fan of reversed headstocks, just for the mere "appearance" being a little different than the norm.

With a locking nut, it doesn't seem to make a difference. But without a locking nut, you might need to get used to the difference in string tension.

I like the reverse headstocks on just about anything except a Fender headstock (Jackson, Ibanez, ect.), but on any "non-traditional" headstock shape...reverse always looks better!

I got tired pretty fast of the reverse strat headstock
I think it makes you look like a poser more than anything else

I have a warmoth neck with reverse banana on one of my Kramers .
I really like it .
I just think they look cool !
Plus I always wanted one .
It adds a touch for me that makes it my own .
As far as looking like a poser maybe so ?
If you like it who cares !!

Reverse headstocks are awesome, but I hate restringing/tuning them because I always find myself reaching for the wrong side of the headstock if I'm not paying attention.  :aww:

I find that the reverse headstock also changes the tension on the strings.

I am not a huge fan of reverse headstocks; however, form some reason I like the reverse strat style on a Fender, Charvel or custom build strat body as you indicate.

So, is it.....

I am actually thinking about that option   . I like both as well and cant seem to decide which way to go.

I have a reverse headstocker. Looks bitchin. I'd say it is badass as well BUT unfortunately I do notice the change in string tension and I am not sure if I dig it. I still gravitate back towards tradtional neck.

cool...look at Musikraft necks too...I have 10 or so if them, most I custom ordered and they are great.

Wasn't it Hendrix who said he liked how the reverse headstock changes the tension? I'm a little surprised to see so many likes here. I agree with Business that it makes you look like a poser, or that you're just trying too hard to be different. I'm real traditional tho, YMMV

I dig the reverse look on telebirds like this one, but not so much on regular strats/teles.

i keep going back and fourth but I think I am going to go with a flame maple neck from warmoth. it will have a flame maple board, and be an angled reverse headstock with stainless frets and no inlay.

On a right handed reverse, are the thick strings floppier, thin strings tighter? I'd prefer the opposite, but not sure if I have this right
