Does anyone know what's up with these guys? I saw their amp in James' ampfest videos. Their site looks really interesting. They also sell a complete line of onetics trannies.

Anyone have any info?

Hey diagrammatiks, glad to see you're interested in Rhodes Amplification! I may be a little biased since I'm the owner, but I'd be happy to answer answer questions you may have about what we do. :)

Yeap, Kyle Rhodes here! I met so many people at the amp fest, so I apologize -- which were you?

If this isn't one of the toughest looking amps,i'm dying to hear it in person.

Just the look of those things, I definitely want to hear some clips :D

Kyle, I think you should change your screen name here to RhodesAmplification, so people know who you are.

(perhaps PM King Guitar about it)

Bsides, good for free advertising!

Altho protoplasm is good :D but I agree with rich

Rhodes, eh? With a name like that, it should be a badass line of amplifiers! Clips/info?!

(PS - Rhodes is my last name :D)

His new amp is pretty thunderous. had a version of it at the Amp Fest a couple weeks ago.
Very Beefy!
Should be fun to check it out around Namm time!

Thanks for the kind words guys! I will be recording some more clips soon -- just need to line up who all is going to do the playing. Some of my custom amp owners are also working on recording their own clips and I hope to have something from those guys soon too. If anyone is interested I have a few less than perfect camera recorded videos of me noodling around... :)

In the meantime there is a bunch of info and pics of the first amp in my standard product line here: http://www.rhodesamplification.com/products/amplifiers/colossus They start shipping in January!

Oh, and I'll be back in LA for NAMM in January with the Colossus in tow. If anyone would like to play/see it in person, send me a PM!

Thanks Khoi! Those were recorded with my iPhone 4, which takes surprisingly good audio/video. :)

Buddy Jackson is the owner of The Assassin, the amp and player in the videos. It's a 3 channel 3U rack mount 100W amp -- essentially, the Clean and two Lead channels from the Colossus. Each lead channel has 4 modes, the effects loop is completely bypassable, there's dual master volumes, and everything (minus the potentiometers of course) is controllable via the front panel, MIDI, or RCI (Rhodes Custom Interface, my proprietary bidirectional communications protocol for interfacing my amps, switchers, and floor controllers).

I think an amp very similar to this would be a great addition to my standard product line as the first rack mount amp. :)

Unfortunately, no booth this year. I'll have all the gear setup in my hotel room near the convention center. Hopefully next year we'll be ready to exhibit!

I'll PM you with my contact info so we can setup a time to get together. I'll be in town from Wednesday the 12th through Sunday the 16th.

Just finished a 4x12 straight cab for one of my clients. Of course, I couldn't resist firing it up with the Colossus during band practice tonight. It's a new design and the low end is so tight!

That 4x12 setup looks evil! Good luck with the biz Kyle!

Thanks!

For those that have asked, this cab is $700 unloaded and $1100 loaded with Celestions. Everything is built in my shop in West Lafayette, Indiana -- no outsourcing! Covering, grill cloth, and name plate color are all customizable. Awesome 2x12 cabs and 1x12 cubes coming soon!

Go INDY!

Hey, just an FYI for everyone who saw the Colossus on the Ampfest clips. This amp KICKS MUCH ASS!!! We didn't have a ton of time to dial it in but personally, what I heard was just gobs of great tone, tons of tone-shaping options, and we didn't even get to the highest gain the Colossus can deliver on the clips. I would definitely like to check out this amp much more in person.

Kyle, can you please PM me and let me know how much a Colossus would cost, shipped to 91351?

Thanks!!
