Wheels Of SteelI commented on the video that when he hit the first A chord it was instant prime Saxon to my ears. Just that raw roar of 80/81 NWOBHM.
EVH's grail JMP was serial # 12,xxx something. Metro George had one and his own amps he had made reference to the 12,000 serial number lineage.I'm outta the loop on this. What's the deal with this amp? Did it belong to anyone famous? Has it been used for any iconic recordings?
I thought he said $20,000? I didn't like the tones I was hearing from the guys camera in the room. I also couldn't believe these guys could stand that closed to it dimed.I can’t imagine what Faulkner paid for that amp,no thanks….
It’s a shame they didn’t take any time to dial it in. Granted those amps have their inherent sound, but could have jumpered and filled it out a little with vol 2 and worked the EQ, beyond everything at 12 O’Clock. I liked its wild, raw tone but it needed a little massaging.I thought he said $20,000? I didn't like the tones I was hearing from the guys camera in the room. LOL, so it's just a regular old Marshall which happens to have a close serial number to one that was used on iconic recordings.EVH's grail JMP was serial # 12,xxx something. Metro George had one and his own amps he had made reference to the 12,000 serial number lineage.
I can tell you / you can 10 old JMP's all same year & model and they can all sound completely different.
Faulkner's is a 12,000 serial number im guessing. That amp is horribly shrill.
Ed's grail to me just sounds like a regular JMP amp from that era nothing spectacular.
