Rig-Talk All Night Lounge v2

I'll try to pop in here occasionally seeing as the last part of my shift is completely-dead thanks to my being, what, 15 -> 17 hrs ahead?
Sounds good.

It's a beautiful night here tonight. Warm with a nice breeze.

I'm planning on processing some firewood in the a.m. Trying to get ahead of next winter during march-april before the heat cranks up plus I have a couple events I gotta travel to this fall so I want to be ahead of the curve this year instead of behind it.

In bed by 11pm; who stays up that late???
That's just a few hours before I wake up for the day. Some mornings when I end up waking up early it's still the day before. <-- that's sort of a joke, but at the same time it isn't.

You're in TX? How cold does it get there?
It can get down into the twenties and teens with high winds. We get snow and ice storms sometimes.

Couch and Hanoi Dan will find something political about this thread.
Couch, Dan, and others are welcome here, but no attacks from either side. If it goes that way I'll ask the Primate to step in.

My goal is to get back to staying up until 3 or 4 a.m and then get up sometime between 10 and noon. I hate getting up before sunrise and I hate going to bed after sunrise. I can get a lot of guitar practice in at night when everyone is sleeping. I say this and it's 8:30 in the a.m but I gotta cut wood before it gets hot. Kids and owning land got me started getting up early. There are some beautiful sunrises here since the property faces east but I've seen enough of them now, lol.

I went to sleep around 3:45 AM cuz I don't have to wake up early for work. Not much activity here after midnight so I wait until morning coffee.

Was 82F here on Monday, then 60F cloudy and windy yesterday; same today. Poor Air Quality rating today. SMH

Is that on purpose or symptomatic of bad zzz. If the former "damn" if the latter "double damn". Sleep issues are killer. Ugh.

Seems like just about everybody on this forum is in bed by 11pm central time unless it's a weekend.

Rules: No politics, no trash talk, no bashing, just late night chill conversations.

Who's up?

@311boogieman what's good bro I saw you there
This place is for when I'm bored @ work. If I'm on here during the week past 5pm, or the weekend, there's a serious problem.

You guys, check yourselves

Bro, if you living in TX and cutting fucking wood to burn I ask, WTF???? You must be in North TX.

It's on purpose.
I have an early schedule and get to work for around 4:30am. I chose that so I could avoid as much traffic as possible in my area. My alarm is set for 1:30am to give myself a few hours to wake up, get moving, and do a few things before leaving for work. If my bladder or the cat running across me wakes me up and it's like 11:45pm, sometimes I'm just like fuck it and get up.

I can relate. I was in the office working at 7 and left at 3 for the same (traffic) reasons. Early bird -> worm!!!

I'm in central Texas. If you're anywhere in the continental US save for South FL or deep south TX you aren't likely getting out of winter without some below freezing temps accompanied by some pretty heavy wind gusts. Even when I lived in St. Pete FL those January days of 40 degrees with an icy blast coming off the gulf are cold, especially when 90+ is your usual jam.

I get up at 4 AM. It’s been years since I got more than 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep without waking up. No it’s not on purpose and yes it sucks. It means most days by about 9PM I’m ready to go to sleep.
I feel for ya. No sarcasm. My better half doesn't sleep much at all either. Man, it sucks really really bad.

I have the occasional bout of insomnia and I'm useless the next day. (I can hear the comebacks now, go for it, I'll laugh with ya)

I do a lot of physical labor here and usually sleep pretty good. For the last month or so my energy levels were crashing out. Burnt out hard. Now that spring is here I'm feeling a whole lot more motivated. Been stacking up that firewood before it gets too hot to cut, haul, split, and stack it. I enjoy being out in the forest when it's nice out. It's really peaceful.

If @Dan Gleesak were here he'd tell me to cut wood uphill so it's not so much work but the front of the property is already mostly cleared, lol.
