Me too. I heard on a news the other day that there are these groups of kids who are rejecting a lot of this technology, etc. and want some of the simpler times that people talk about.

It is easy to want food delivered, a.i., robot vacuums, etc. But it doesn't improve life. It makes people lazy and miserable. Get out and take a walk in the woods some time. It instantly makes you feel like you have more energy. Fuck a.i.

I haven't heard that. Very encouraging!

Wish this story was past tense and we got to hear about the performance.

there's been a fair share of people in my world who have fancied themselves as lead vocalists and have been given opportunities that were maybe a bit over their pay grade, but tolerable.

i’ve also been in bands with amazing vocalists i was very humbled to be on stage with and inspired by.

then there is the delusional category where i can’t get off the stage fast enough and the game becomes how to tactfully ask for none of said person’s vocal in your mix without panic and disgust in your tone

A.I. is one thing but I wish the fascination with making life like replicas of people or animals would get the fuck out of our system. I want my nursing home A.I. companion to look totally inhuman so I never think I’ve made an actual friend w/code. Christ we think we have a population growth problem now. Wait ‘til guys can have a life like hottie who will do pretty much anything they want.
The only kids to be conceived will be with turkey basters.
I’m not religious but I find the need to recreate ourselves artificially, play God if you will, extremely creepy and filled with ego driven arrogance.

crazy how Dolly the clone sheep was such an existential crisis but now transhuman AI /cryogenic clone farms are the next rage. think AI music is bad?

simple logic dictates that an AI summary of humanity’s self destructive behavior concludes that we are poor candidates to be in charge of preserving ourselves let alone a future habitat for AI. so why would it allow us to continue doing so? how do we know the switch hasn’t already been flipped and all of these AI data centers being built around the globe depleting our water and land are man-based decisions?

I'm in my mid-50s so I was lucky enough to have a pre-cell phone, pre-computer life. I feel bad for people who can't turn off technology.
