James, I just clicked the link to your site just for stalking purposes, and then I found this awesome picture of yours   :

Man that's hillarious, you rock dude!

Gazzari's

I don't care who you are, if you had seen how many beautiful women filled those clubs in LA in those days, you would have been ratting your hair up and looking for purple pants too. We ALL looked like that, chicks dug it and there were so many guitarists playing those stages that were just SICK! Charvels, Jose Marshalls, Metaltronix, Performance Guitars, it was awesome.

The young guys laugh about it, but you guys freaking missed it. Sit down at the feet of James and have him tell you some stories about the good old days  :D

Yup I feel for them, especially all these 80's shredders on here. Listening to all the solos almost everyone had element of Lynch in them. It was almost scary.

I did my best.

James,
I haven't listened to the updated one yet and I don't care if you ran my solo through an envelope filter into a reverse delay into a harmonizer and put me a half step out of tune. I don't care, and you should be done working on it and bracing yourself for a thousand slaps on the back. You rule for doing this and I'm thankful to have gotten in on it.

You think you're going to please 25 guitarists on the same track? :hys:

THanks man!

You could go anywhere in Hollywood (or Compton) at midnight walking that dog around.

Not nearly as good as Darren's or chubtones... Everyone kicked major ass. Ok I think I am done jacking with this one for a while.

James major props to you my friend! This was VERY cool! I had a freaking blast!

Thanks Josh. I think you are bringing it on this clip. Tone sounds cool too. What are you using and how are you able to crank it up at this hour where you are? I'm in LA and it's past midnight. It's what, 2:30 am where you are?

Sounds awesome James!

My solo is late, by 1 bar I believe, so it's a bit weird as I played the licks to different chords, but the shift makes it kinda interesting.
(this was the mix I posted here download/file.php?id=8854)

Well I was the one who cut the export 1 bar shorter than the others at the beginning, so I messed up and leave it up to you to decide which placement is better (I think advancing it would truncate the beginning of the solo and I'd probably prefer to keep that) .

Well, long story short, no need to change, just leave as is

Oops number 27 was wrong, it's Splawner. He sent his track after I started this but I fixed the first post in thread now. It should all be spot on. To top off all the weirdness and stress gmail has been on and off all day making my life hell.

That's a whisper quiet wizard VC50. Everyone asleep at home. Seriously my guitar is louder itself acoustically than the amp. Yep 2:40 here. I am boosting it with a ibanez super tube (crap pedal but works great for this application). I don't have a recording rig together, so I just have a 58 hanging over my cab. Its sad, but it worked for the sake of this clip.

Oh yeah mesa 2x12 vertical cab. Older one, metal grille. Thats about the scoop on it. Les paul classic w/ bbq's

Thanks!
Josh

Yeah I just checked your solo it only had a 1 bar intro when I downloaded it instead of the 4 bars on the backing track. So I placed it 1 bar ahead of the drop point and it sounded cool, I didn't know what you were going for but with it coming in wrong the 1 bar seemed logical. Still sounds great. the cool part is no matter what we can still hear how everyone plays.

Yeah it's cool.

I was thinking, it would be great If I could do a vid with the track you mixed and then have pics of respective players aligned to the audio. I could do it if I got the pictures from all - only thing that's an issue is the 10 min. limit in YT - James did you get that extended for yourself yet?

Dio should have used "Around The World In 30 Days" for his "Hear n' Aid" project back then. Killa song!

James I also love the power of your voice. The timbre of the quiet passages gives me the shivers. Awesome!

Solos-wise... Great talent here. What a shred fest! :D

My only regret is that I haven't discoverd "Rig-Talk" a 'lil earlier.

Pretty cool

Everyone needs to work on their vibrato.

Awesome. I hosted one of these a few years ago and it's hard to get everything perfect and please everyone. I doubled almost everything in my track and i didn't use T-Racks which brings the level up. Some of the other tracks with just 1 guitar track seem to punch through better. It rules. Glad to hear all the different players here.

Now, where the fuck is Ralph, Harry, Stratboy :gethim:

If anyone else can tell me, here's my track with the guide track and me throwing some quick verb and delay on it. It sounds alright in this context but sounds like crap compared to some of these other guys when put right next to them.

Thanks for the listen!

dude you're definitely real low in the mix, honestly i thought i was too from what i had heard only once through...but no biggie. YOU'RE SMOKIN! and honestly i like your tone the best of all tracks. James, thanks for putting this together man, great vocals and hook! now go take care of your wifey.

some great solo's for sure, i need to listen more tomorrow.

Your track is awesome, it's nice and loud on my speakers. I think were all used to our mix we had on our own system.

Man, that was too cool  There are some killer players here! Great job everyone! Thanks James, you rock

I think it sounds fantastic - thank you James for going to all that trouble! It must have been a ton of work but it came out great

Great playing by all!
