RIP Richie Havens

I saw Richie Havens put on a clinic at the Berklee Performance Center in the early 90s. I can remember everybody sitting there stunned. He had the kind of voice and presence...I'm pretty sure he could have carried the whole room without a PA. Just pure power. By the end of the performance, he had snapped all six strings off his acoustic. Intense.

I saw Richie at the Lincoln Center probably 15 years ago, amazing show. RIP.

I only got to see him in the Woodstock movie. Thoroughly enjoyed his performance though.
