I bought one back in early 2016.
Great amp but needs to be pushed to sound good.

Yup this exactly. One of the main reasons I keep it.. to justify all the boost and OD pedals, otherwise I wouldn't need them so much

yeah, this amp definitely shines with a boost in front of it.

What boost are you guys using? I don't feel the need to boost mine. A lot of it is just turning it up and having the EQ right. They are very fussy amps.

I'm just using my old SD-1.

Yes, Knuckleheads can be tricky to dial in, but worth it in the end.

It is the only amp I have that my fortin pedals do sound damn good in front of more so than my keeley red dirt or buxom boost. I can crank that low end up, flub the shit out of it and the 33/grind just tighten the shit out of it. Other than that those pedals sound like shit on the rest of my amps

Thanks for the info. I will have to get a clip up of mine unboosted. It's weird because I boost most amps in general and not the Tre.

That's my clip! I don't have it anymore Very cool amp but not quite my style. Quite unique, not anything like typical high gain Marshall kinda tones IMO. Has almost like a Hiwatt & Orange kind of thing going on. Sounds like a bit of Recto DNA in there and a bit Shiva like in a way too. Massive low end and punishingly loud. Clean channel is phenomenal.

That clip is fantastic but that tone from 1:31 - 1:51 is amazing!!

That amp is sink or float pending treble and presence settings.

Also it DOES need volume to open up.
