You guys have som really cool stories!

I'm a weekend warrior cover band guy doing party rock. We usually play bars, marinas, campgrounds, private parties, and the odd local festival here and there,

Coolest/ most rock star gig was at the now closed Hard Rock in Cleveland several years ago with my previous band.

It was the weekend of the Rock and Roll HOF induction the year Green Day was nominated, and they hired us to basically be a Green Day tribute band for the night. We knew a ton of GD, so we agree to do it.

We KILLED it.

Had a couple hundred folks there screaming and singing along like we were the real deal. Girls on stage- the whole 9 yards. Even had a kid and his dad come up after we finished and ask for a guitar pick.

It was pretty wild, and definitely a gigging highlight for me.

Played around the Delaware tri state area cover band scene for years, started when I was 21-22, played some pretty big clubs as I fell in to an already established band around the area. Biggest crowd was probably 5000+ when we opened for Molly Hatchet which was pretty cool, most shows were from a few hundred to maybe 1000-1500 depending on the venue. Had a great time doing it but in recent years a lot of those clubs have closed up so the scene is kinda weak here these days, got some great memories out of it.

ive played all the big clubs in my area with some of my favorite bands ever, so i at least got a taste. i just never got the right group together to do what i had envisioned, and just got tired of trying, but that at least lead me down the studio hole and doing everything myself now.

My college band in the mid/late 90s played a radio festival where we were the direct support for Toadies and Candlebox on the main stage. We opened for Skynyrd at the Coast Coliseum. Had a few songs on local radio. Talked seriously to an A&R guy.... and then the wheels came off the bus due to inner band drama. Had another run from 2006-2009, but right as we were starting to really gain traction, the singer left to move to LA to "make it." lol!

These days I'm just scratching the itch in a Bush tribute band. I work on my own music on the side... that may or may not ever see the light of day.

Nothing major, but had some fun.
Started out as a tech for local bands in the 80's, so learned a LOT about writing, arranging & band dynamics/personalities.
Played actively in early to mid 90's then again late 90's through about 2001 or 2002. Hit just about every major club in CT and a helluva lot of dives.
Played bars up to 1.200 capacity, opened for nationals regularly. Had small label interest, appeared on a couple of tribute CD's.
Played a small fest in MD in 2000, and did a jam at ProgpowerUSA a while back.
Was Guitar/backline & Stage manager for ProgpowerUSA for 20 years, did a few small tours as backline/guitar tech - USA, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Amsterdam, Belgium. One offs with a few other bands - Cyndi Lauper several times, O2'L.
A couple of reunion shows of old local bands in 2017 and again in 2019.

I have enough gear for a small music store, but play Madison Square bedroom now, when I actually get time to play.

My band opened for Yvonne Elliman in Hawaii at a high school my drummer taught at. She was in the movie Jesus Christ Superstar and "If I Can't Have You" from Saturday Night Fever was her hit song. She was really cool and originally we were supposed to be her backing band doing Zeppelin and The Who, because she loved rock and roll but she caved and did her hits.

I got to play to a lot of drunk military when I was in the military. I had some military girl ask for my autograph after we opened for this band "Strypes" from L.A. at the base club. She said "in case you guys get famous!" and I said "Uh, you know I'm in the military. How am I going to become famous?" 🤣🤣🤣

Did you meet Cyndi Lauper's bassist/Music director Bill ?

I looked him up., don’t think he was on any of the half dozen or so gigs I did with here how far back he went with her,
Oh ok, didn't know how far back he went with her, he was on the 30th anniversary of "that's so unusual" tour when I saw her in Atlantic City, great player, he used to sit in on acoustic night with me and my singer.

I chose bedroom warrior, but I've played to about 75 people at local school fundraisers. I played drums 2 years and guitar 1 year. That option wasn't listed. 😢

Are you the coffee stand girl's husband by chance?

Cryptatropa is one of my hangs. Kind of the most cliche goth bar, though. It's owned by this guy known as the dark dentist who has a bunch of weird rental properties where he covers the windows and packs college students in them. Have heard (as in urban legend, possibly not true) that he offers cheap/free rent in exchange for cameras in every room.:ROFLMAO:
Nope. No coffee stand affiliation.

I’ve played tons of rock clubs in the 200-500 capacity touring in the late 80s early 90s in the midwest. prolly biggest crowd though was a country band I played with. about 3-4k people, outside gig each 4th of July in 2018 and 2019. The Whisky in LA is my fave place to play.

That club has history oozing out of the walls - great vibe. It was a lot smaller than I expected it to be.

i alternated mixing sound and playing at our 2500 seat church for close to 20 years

my normal view from FOH mixing a concert put on by the local radio station

my first time playing this song i learned at soundcheck for a Thanksgiving service-skip to 3:30 for the gnar 😁
