Think someone posted a rockstah amp a few days back in the ads.
Rip mister Rockstah.

Thanks bro!
I saw that someone had a Grainger modded 50 W amplifier for sale, I am looking a little more specifically for 100 W Marshall that’s had the mod done or if someone does the mod…

Here is the scheme for the preamp from metro forum I believe.

Yeah, it's a lightly modded jcm800. Pretty simple and there is lots of info out there.
From what I have read, Mark would tweak the individual amps a la Cameron, but that scheme is the basics of the mod. Component selection ( the specific use of a 2n2 xicon, for example ) plus the use of PEC pots also played a role.
I also believe that the reason Mark's vids sounded so good was that he was an unbelievable player and his recording chops were 1st rate as well.

Yup, not surprised at all.
With his chops Mark could make a roc-pro 1000 sound like a CCV   :D

He had EVH’s swing down to a T

He was a good dude, one of my old bands opened for Starship back in the early 2000s and as I was setting up my rig he offered to let me play though his cab...pretty cool of him. After we finished I watched him doing some warmups backstage, he was playing stuff similar to YJM. I'm sure the guy could play whatever he wanted.
RIP.

I had one modded by Mark. The magic was with Mark not the amp. I sold it quickly.
I bought one from Andy K here at RT, cool amp but just slightly more gain than a stock 800.

Thanks for all your input and experience, guys, I appreciate it…
I don’t have his fingers, I don’t have his feel, I don’t have his talent, so a MOD 5 aint going to do miracles for me!
Have a good week ahead guys!

If you're going for that tine, David Bray Mods are along those lines too.

All true...he also had the reverb nailed and mixed perfectly.

Did he have a heart attack? I remember that he always seemed like such a nice guy.

Yep, I believe it was a heart attack after a show..

He was an unbelievable player though and always helpful on the Metro forum. Very sad as he was quite young. That PPIMV and a few tweaks goes a long way if you have hands and feel. A lot of people I think were expecting more based on his clips. That said, it does sound good recorded, you just need to work for it. Michael R/T on this forum (who posts regular clips of his mods here) does a similar mod with possibly a bit more gain.

The Rockstah mod 5 is really a one trick pony VH mod which was Marks goal. I installed one according to those schematics and it was Blah sounding quite honestly. I made some changes and got it sounding pretty good as long as you have the chops but it was kind of uninspiring to play it just didn't have that plexi about to explode qualities to it.

I would have to say the best plexi style mod out there IMO is the Michael RT/mod which still retains plexi feel and tone with alot of gain... more gain than the Mod 5. I have done a mod similar to the RT/mod to my 72SL and I like it alot better than the mod 5.

I think the Bray is also a good proven great sounding high gain plexi mod if modded plexi tones is your goal.
Here is some clips of my mod 5 in a 50 watt plexi amp which I eventually went with a Cameron inspired JCM800 for that amp but it was no longer plexish IMO. These clips were straight into the amp GB speakers 12K SD pickup fairly low/medium volume.
